At this point, the build took the most exciting next turn any father could possibly hope for. “Dad, I’m going to paint the Millennium Falcon’s escape from the Death Star from a ‘New Hope’,” she stared matter-if-factly. Here’s where our story takes a controversial and potentially polarizing turn. One might opine that simply running with Electric Purple as is and going ahead and assembling the instrument would have been the most appropriate next action - it undoubtedly would have made for a stunning instrument its own right. My kid, however, sees it not just as deep sparkly purple, but rather as the backdrop for scene creation. First step: she’s applied stars and planets and whispy Milky-Way-like things. We did the same treatment on the headstock as well.
