Matt wasn’t used to working with any sort of organization of sorts. He was used to working solo; if he got caught he had no one to blame besides himself — and if not he got a hundred percent of the profit. However, it was the doing of a friend he recently linked back up with. He told him he started working under this guy and getting a pretty decent check doing it. The bills were only piling up higher and higher, so really any source of income was better than the scraps he was currently earning on his own.
He was still in a bit of an ‘initiation’ stage, though he imagined he was at least near the end of it. He had just finished what he thought was to be his last request from the boss before he knew if he was cut out for the job. The tasks were surprisingly tame compared to what he imagined, so he was sure that the real fun was left to those who stuck around. At that point, he was only able to hope his enthusiasm would be enough to push him through the threshold.
It was around eleven at night. He just finished a drop off to a rather sketchy part of town — what was inside the package, he did not know, but he assumed it was best not to ask too many questions especially those he didn’t desire the answer to. He had yet another package in his hands, this time one from the location he was just at to Joel. And so he walked inside the building he had been meeting the older at and strolled into his office. “I’m baaacck,” he sang. He went over to his desk and set down the package he was tasked with returning. “They said to give you this, but you never mentioned picking anything up so I am a bit suspicious…” He admitted, followed by a shrug of his shoulders. He had no idea who the people were, or their relation to Joel, so there was a good chance he was just being a bit paranoid.
