#mating dance

Been thinking about mating dances in birds and how they must’ve evolved. Like, have these dances become longer or more elaborate over multiple generations as the males try to continuously one up each other? Did dinosaurs have mating dances? Where did they originate from, because especially with birds like the Lance-tailed Manakin, they aren’t born with an innate desire to do backflips with their buddy, this is learned behavior, but learned from who? Where did they, and other elaborate mating dances originate from?
