Massimo Ranieri - Se Bruciasse la Città 1969
Giovanni Calone, professionaly known as Massimo Ranieri, is an Italian singer and actor. He represented Italy twice in the Eurovision Song Contest; in 1971 (ending up in the fifth place) and 1973. With over fourteen million sold records, he is among the best-selling Italian artists worldwide. Throughout his career, he has released 31 albums (23 studio albums, four live albums, and four compilations) and 36 singles. His self-titled debut album was released in January 1970, following Ranieri's participation in the music show Canzonissima 1969 with "Se Bruciasse la Città" ("If the City Burns"), a song that placed third at the event. The lyrics are by Giancarlo Bigazzi, while the music is by Enrico Polito and Totò Savio; the same group of composers wrote a numerous other songs performed by Massimo Ranieri in the following years, including the hit "Erba di Casa Mia", winner of Canzonissima 1972. "Se Bruciasse la Città" is part of the soundtrack of the series Better Call Saul, appearing in the first episode of the first season.
