how common do y'all think it is for people in the mass effect universe, specifically humans, to speak the galactic standard trade language fluently?
i noticed that mass effect has characters with foreign accents despite universal translators. such as chloe michel who has a french speakers accent. now i have this headcanon that having a foreign accent in the mass effect universe is kind of a flex, because it shows you put in the effort to learn a second language fluently, even though you could just use the universal translator.
what's everyone's take on "in mass effect people can smoke and drink with no damage", i swear the books said that (at least about the smoking, that i know) but i can't fathom drinking with no damage at all. maybe there are alcohol forms that are a little easier to metabolize, or better treatments against damage from drinking, but i can't see it not being harmful then again i'm no biologist.
if humans in mass effect are said to live to 150 that means some humans in 2183 must have lived to 150 already, meaning some humans who were born around 2030 have only recently died in mass effect

did it ever occur to you that in mass effect, in space, everything would be measured and named differently: years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, seconds, weight, length, volume, temperature, seasons
you could talk about summer or about monday, and an alien would have no idea what you mean
Masterlist of Mass Effect transcripts (trilogy, MEA)
Today is a good day to start this masterlist of Mass Effect Lore transcripts! A new transcript is available: Garrus' Normandy conversations in ME2 (romance scenes included).
I made some changes to include all romance scenes for Ash, Kaidan and Liara in their Normandy conversations transcripts for ME1. I also completely changed the structure of the Citadel transcripts. Before, they were all put together and linked to Expose Saren. Now you can check one specific file to see Citadel assignments and another file to check the chatter, squadmate comments and other conversations happening in different Citadel locations.
As I state in the intro of each of those transcripts, they're a work in progress. And a labor of love! I'm doing my best. They're not perfect, I'm constantly working on them to add more dialogue options or scenes. If you see a mistake, don't hesitate to send me a message so I can improve them :)
