while discussing books a girl proposed that the high school students should read the brothers karamazov instead of crime and punishment. girl i see the vision but trust me they will like it even less than cnp.
the other day i watched pride and prejudice (2005) as soon as i finished the book. and i was impressed by the hand flex etc etc but. nothing compares to “what should i call you when i’m cross, mrs darcy?” and i think it’s also a crime the way this moment is slept on
just watched a video where a girl played ‘would you marry this or that guy’ (rus lit edition). and no one proposed dima razumikhin not even once.
“i can fix him” but he’s literally the guy who rewrote his life so she would accept him

not a big fan of turgenev's works yet i randomly decided to give a chance to "the nest of gentry". especially after mom said she had read it 2 times
please god make me one of the dostoevsky's characters description in the next life
i’ve been running a book club for 2 months already and the most interesting part about it is how people perceive books in general. for instance a girl said she didn’t like the book because among characters no one managed to stay sensible (the story is set during the great depression). when i said it doesn’t really work like that and people have different coping mechanisms and can act unpredictably she said “mmm i’ve read another book and the characters stayed humanistic”
