5/19/2024: Happy belated birthday, Maryellen and Luciana!
Maryellen (or Ellie) is still pretty new here, but she's made great friends with our Duchess Septimus already. Both girls are, although it's not immediately visible, disabled: Ellie had polio as a child, meaning one leg is shorter than the other and her lungs are sensitive to the cold, and Dulcie's hereditary cancer has basically affected all of her body (her lungs are also wrecked, she often needs mobility aides, her immune system is absurdly compromised). They've both had to deal with the problems of their own bodies and also prejudices, and they're both determined to live their lives to the fullest that they can.
They also both love to be adorable and they both have dogs! Ellie's dachshund Scooter is a cute little piece of canon; Dulcie's golden retriever Chrysanta, who is in fact a service dog, was born Tenney's dog but c'mon she's got a green leash and roses on her collar, she was destined to be Dulcie's! Maryellen is wearing her Poodle Skirt Outfit, while Dulcie is wearing her usual white shoes, the blouse from this outfit by StarBriteDoll on Etsy, a belt that is this shawl from beautifulwomen2012 on eBay, and a skirt that is actually a slip from Magic Attic Club Megan's Jewel of the Sea Cruise dress.
Ellie is really interested in space, and conveniently Dulcie and her partners are from space, so to celebrate Ellie's recent birthday, Dulcie arranged for Cam and Pal to do a little talk about what it's like to live in space. Dulcie just thinks it's fun to listen to them give academic lectures, since it's kind of their thing. It was also Luciana's birthday this month, and Luciana also loves space, so she and her robot dog were also invited!
