Same animal according to Danish. Theyāre both āmarsvinā
It means sea-pig because people thought the whale was kinda pig-shaped and it lived in the sea.
Then we learned the Germans called the rodents āMeerschweinchenā which means little-sea-pig because they thought they were kinda pig-shaped and came from across the sea and it sounded enough like āmarsvinā so we just called them that too.
So if Danes from towns near the see tell you they saw a āmarsvinā while they were out on their walk itās a good idea to ask clarifying questions.
