Caitlin traced her fingers over Marlize's lips, feeling the rips in her bottom lip where Marlize had been chewing it. Marlize remained still under her, pinned onto Caitlin's bed by the auburn-haired woman's weight on her.

After a few long moments, Marlize sighs impatiently, giving her an expectant look. Caitlin says nothing, but her hands move on, tracing over her jawline and down to her throat, over her jugular, feeling the steadiness of her heartbeat under her fingertips.

Caitlin wasn't exactly sure how this had happened, or how they'd come to this arrangement. The nature of their relationship wasn't sexual nor romantic. But as Marlize's breathing became uneven, her hand came up to Caitlin's face, and Caitlin froze.

Marlize's hand dropped immediately, and Caitlin smiled reassuringly at her, continuing to lightly trail her fingers over Marlize's neck. Marlize craned her head back, fully exposing her throat with a quiet plea.

Caitlin sighed, and slowly wrapped her hand around Marlize's throat and squeezed, savoring the wheezing gasp she let out. She never squeezed too hard, never wanted Marlize to make that horrible choking noise like Killer Frost had done when Zoom had—
