A fun little drawing of Ianthe from 2018 - this was done maybe toward the beginning of the long period where we just didn't draw much.
I have some mixed feelings about this drawing. I tried marker paper with this one though & just don't love it - I feel like the markers came out more blotchy. Cover stock has always been my go-to & I love how marker looks on that paper, but it just eats so much ink!!
Some pages from sketchbook. All theese days I tryed marker paper and can't understand how to work with it. I can't put flat layer with light colors. The next layer mix with previous one and it looks dirty. Also I can smear everything by my hand, markers never dry on this paper..
What technique I need use on this paper?!
But the last picture looks pretty nice, I don't know why, it's a little random.
Test Illustration using Canson Marker Paper
Calcite Another marker paper test. I did this on Art 1st Pocan paper. This one...was not my favorite. You probably can't see it at this size, but there are edges where the ink bled. Speaking of bleed, the paper is "bleed resistant" not proof. I kept a scratch paper under the page, but it even bleed through that page onto the next page in the pad. When coloring on the Bee and transotype papers nothing bled onto the scratch page, no matter how much I saturated the paper. Everything layered instead of mixing, which after awhile I learned how to use and work around it, but I still had trouble achieving smooth colors and shading because of it. The upside is that it was the cheapest of the paper and easiest to obtain (go go walmart), it was a little thicker than the transotype, and I actually kind of like the stroke on the color edges. I could see using the effect on black and white pieces. It's kind of like turning on "watercolor edges" in clip studio. I just won't be doing color characters on it.

Paper problems lol
So last night I tested out Windsor & Newton marker paper and found it to be terrible....Turns out I was drawing on the back side of the paper.
It’s actually decent paper.
Maybe I should have gone to bed earlier.
