One of the quieter families in StrangerVille, the Eggleston's keep their heads down and do their best to seem like a neutral party in the face of a potential invasion of Mamluks. Admittedly Mark has given thought (more than once) to what might happen if their child king were to tragically pass away, but Alice always tempers such thoughts with the reality and danger of thinking such things. It helps that they're both happy with their life and family. With a pair of healthy twins born in 1305, and just this year a new daughter, things are rosy.
Mark Eggleston, 35
Even as a little boy Mark was always well-liked and friendly, finding the bright side in things no matter how dark they got. He hasn't changed as an adult, though his interests shifted from toys to art and learning. He's fascinated by the rare goods that pass through the area, paintings of strangers in strange lands, books talking of philosophy, of life and death... there's so much to discover!

Alice Martin, 33
Alice is a gifted painter, known for her deft brushstokes and bold use of color. She even painted all of the murals in the king's palace - no small feat! She's also a nimble dancer, a court beauty, and a devoted wife. Her only real fault is her hyperfocus on the task at hand, leaving her to sometimes be neglectful or herself or her children, but it's never malicious.

Little Marcus is nearly a child, but has always been a gentle, sweet-natured child. He seems to struggle with seeing things far away, often tearfully complaining of headaches, but he does his best to be a good boy.
