Another Marbled Monday with the endpapers of Isl. Ms. 324, a copy of Kullīyāt-i Mullā Jāmī (کلیات مولانا جامی), collected poetic works of Mawlānā Nūr al-Dīn ʻAbd al-Raḥmān Jāmī (d.1492)
The opening of the volume features an elaborate double-page illumination (Isl. Ms. 324)

Another Marbled Monday on the covers of Isl. Ms. 29, a copy of al-Ṣaḥāʼif al-ilāhīyah (الصحائف الالهية) by Shams al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Ashraf al-Samarqandī (d.1303?).
al-Samarqandī's treatise is accompanied by numerous marginal and interlinear glosses and corrections.

Waves Inside and Out
The beautiful marbled paper covering was added much later during the lifetime of this 1714 Dutch book. Perhaps unintentionally however, the swirling patterns of the marbling echo the wavy contours of the untrimmed pages inside. The combination feels...fitting.

The many patterns of #MarbledMonday on display all at once! These volumes are all from the same set, but were obviously bound at different times and with different papers. They were spotted in the reading room recently, where they were paged for a group of K-12 researchers working on the history of Marie Antoinette. French Revolutionary Tracts Collection, DC141 .R4.
