Rehearsals for the São João festival in Maranhão. Cacuriá is a typical dance from São LuÃs, created by Seu Lauro in the 70s to liven up the Divino festivities. Pairs dance, sensually swaying their hips to the Divino drummers' (caixeiras) beat. It’s beautiful to watch and also to join in.
