It’s just a houseplant, but look, waxy leaves do well in so many kinds of environments. A lot of people suffered during the Jamestown famine when the agriculture failed from a lack of good water.

Tháp grows tall with its kin by the side, collecting rich pools of mud in its ditches when it last rained; named Tower for its size by locals far away where the jungle knobs off into narrow shophouses. Here, he only needs to close his eyes for the sounds to grow louder. Different, strange birds call, some sharp, some dry. The wilderness returns to him, the loud brushstrokes of leaves rubbing from a large monkey overhead, walking across thin branches shadowed. Like it, they’ve come unheralded, nameless as ghosts on Terra, leaving no trace where they went, perceived as one of them to the skin colour.

For Adam, a warm, Caucasian pallor and freckles sponged on his cheeks, loose white t-shirt rolling in waves of colour, the cast of Seinfeld in and around a couch screen-printed in the front. Unknown ferns overlay a new world, never trodden; brushing overgrown blades of grasses, crawlers of leaves and small spindly fruit, fallen trees, leftover parts of waterlogged wood from the rain that would crumble in decay, valleys and hills of green from the earth that slowly drank water. Downhill, his sneakers fall deeper than expected, all weight swinging its pendant against a scoop into the mud hidden in the ferns. He slips backward and slides, a flush of cool and damp leaves smearing his jeans and his palm flattens into the wild wet earth.   

‘   Shit.   ‘    He turns to look up at Mantis. From down here, the scent of tàu bay fills his nose.

A breath out as one hand tightened on a knife and the other around the handle of Mjølnir as she pushed up. There were aches and pains, but she would push through it. She had to. She looked over at Mantis.

Yes!

She's been waiting for this, for the invitation to finally come that brings her out on the town with Mantis. She knows she could have invited her, of course, but if Mantis is going to take her out, then she doesn't want to be the one to suggest it. Besides, they both have things that they have to do, and now's the time where both of their schedules align. And she's excited!

It won't be the first time that AJ has called in sick, so to speak, but it's understood that she's always going to make up for it. Besides, it's just her and her sisters, so they can't really be so upset, right? They know she's good for it. So here she is, and she has no reason not to think it's going to be great.

🍔 : Logan really does like cooking, he isn't much of a baker. He gets all his baked goods from his mom or sisters, though so he has his 'dealers'. He loves cooking, a steak or burgers are his favorite to cook, usually done on the grill in the backyard next to the porch. In wintertime, he uses a version of a camping grill and it works perfectly for his liking. But he does like a good pasta dish or stew too, he loves cooking savory meals.

✈️ : He is a more homey person honestly, but he isn't averse to traveling. He likes road trips better than flying if he can help it, but he knows flying is just easier sometimes for saving money and time in the long run. He can't sleep on planes much, or if he does, it's not restful at all, and he is the person who drives the most when he has to rotate with people on a lengthy road trip. His favorite road trip, if it can be called that, is the Run for the Wall event he does once every other year or so (depending on if he's motivated enough to do it every year, which he might).

💭 : Unfortunately I don't know any of those in depth things for him, and I don't have the spoons right now to want to find out, but soon! I'll figure it out soon and let you know 🤍

🎮 : his three favorite hobbies are, not necessarily in order: reading, whittling, gaming. The games he tends to play are more of the Nintendo games, like when his niece brings over her Switch and sets it up to play competitively with some racing games and the like, he actually likes to play her cozy games because he lowkey loves doing the endless grinding for resources. That part of games is weirdly soothing to him, and he really enjoys doing the grinding for her so she can reap the rewards of the storylines.
