#mango studies

i know i haven't been super active on here but i promise, i HAVE been studying!! hahah. especially because shortly after i was safe from catching COVID from a lab mate, I caught COVID. But we're all good now. Testing negative, no more symptoms.

While being locked away in my apartment, I actually started reading more papers which is a habit I'm trying to build for my second year. I will have comps at the end of my second year and i want to be prepared. I also took the leap of faith and started diving into some big data by trying to organize it to do the analyses I need to do. I also started teaching myself the analyses I need to do by taking some notes and watching tutorials LOL.

alzheimer's assoc conference in Philly in a week-ish

returning to lab for data collections

finalizing some things for this administrative supplement

so uh, let’s go

hey babes! y’all already know it’s sammmango up in this house, you can call me either sam or mango. it don’t matter. i usually go by mango. it’s been a hot minute since i made a post that actually took a lot of effort LOL so uh, yeah. i’m doing this to establish this blog as also a studyblr so we’ll see how it goes. 

in this post, honestly i’m gonna reintroduce myself to my followers and introduce myself to the studyblr community, hehe

i’m 18 for now, that’ll change in a month (oh god)

i’m a sophomore in university (i’ll go over my fall semester classes in a sec) and i’m currently studying anthropology and likely archaeology

i’m also a part of witchblr, but i haven’t been very active in my practice :(

i love to write, sometimes i love to read. i’m working on reading some more. 

i am Filipino and European (mutt!!!)

i really like some,,, very wide range music. (let’s talk about Glass Animals, Brockhampton, Missio, Gorillaz, etc.)

i’m trying to get into more fitness and health

i don’t know what else?? to say????? i don’t know how to describe myself.

ANYWHO. let’s talk about w h y  I wanted to start some studyblr content up here:

having a studyblr will hold me more accountable, obviously. 

i want to be able to motivate myself by posting things that get me attention and advice from the other studyblrs and my babes

i’m hoping this will encourage me to form healthy study habits

i also love the studyblr community lol y’all are so sweet

april 22

gave feedback on my lab mate's qualifying exam and i'm so proud :') can't believe that's going to be me in a few years lol

so this coming week is going to be my last week of academic work here at purdue. i'm going to finish my paper and submit it, then take my final exam on wednesday or thursday, then i'm DONE. after that? its just lab for the rest of april and may :))

(Re) Introduction Post

I think its time to re-introduce myself for all the new peeps here! My name is Alexi and I am an incoming PhD student at Arizona State University for Biomedical Engineering!

A quick bio: I'm originally from California and I used to play a lot of sports, primarily softball until high school. I stopped playing because I started to fall out of love with it but it still holds a special place in my heart! I went to California State University, Long Beach and obtained my Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering in May 2022. Now, I'm finishing a post-baccalaureate research program at Purdue in Indiana and its been a wild ride. I love to read, be active, and try different coffee shops & restaurants.

I started this blog in HIGH SCHOOL (!?!) and its still going pretty strong. I use it as a space to keep me motivated, to give me different study techniques, and to meet so many cool people :) super happy to be here.
