No Straight Roads Headcanons: Bunk Bed Junction | Mamak edition
Everything in Mayday and Zuke's pad was stuff that was thrown away. Yes even the arcade machine. Yes even the helicopter.
Zuke and Mayday manually bunked their beds.
Zuke was raised in a Kampung outside of but not far from Vinyl City. He moved into the city so he could attend the prestigious college there.
Mayday has a close knit family of just her, her parents, and her maternal grandmother. While she does have a strong family unit, she tended to wander the streets a lot as a child and was basically raised by Mamak
Zuke spent most of his young adult life in the Higher-End districts of the City, only occasionally visiting Mamak until the Rapturika incident. Mayday lived in Mamak her whole life, only ever visiting the other districts when she needed to and goes out of her way to avoid them whenever possible Out of spite
Mamak is the lowest-income area of the city, as well as (pre-Revolution) the District with the least amount of energy, owing to the fact that they have no Charter. If B2J actually, by some miracle, won the Lights Up Audition, they would have become the charters of Mamak.
Mayday's eyes became Like That after she heard rock music for the first time. It was an old tape recording of a Goolings performance.
Zuke met Mayday almost immediately after he ran away from Rupturika. She complimented him on his hair and struck up a conversation. After explaining that he couldn't go back to where he lived, she offered to let him crash in the hideout she made in an abandoned part of the sewers.
It didn't take long for the two to start making music together, and for Zuke to fall in love with rock almost as much as Mayday had.
After a while, the two scrounged up a couple of proper beds to sleep on. Mayday had the idea to fasten them on top of eachother, and the rest is history.
