I know many of you are here because of the translation of "My cute, naughty Rin", and i want to make y'all lives a bit better - here's a list of mangas similar to that one: male yandere manga in an office setting!
Tonari no seki no hen na senpai
One of my first yan mangas, as you can tell by my pfp i was quite influenced by it. It tells a story of an office worker and a new, gloomy guy who seems way too obsessed with her. Add sexual tension, big dick and cute face not matching his not so cute personality and you'll get this one!
Let me warn you, this series was dropped by the author and we don't know when it will be picked up, so keep that in mind!
My charming neighbor has a secret
This one is in color but the manga vibes are hard to miss. MC is a lonely woman, who just wants to be loved - and her neighbor, seemingly too perfect - loves her almost too much. Let's just hope she won't find out the collection of her photos plastered around his room....
Kuro-kun, the black cat's cute and naughty act of gratitude
This one is not in office setting but the mc is an overworked office worker so the vibe is still there. MC adopts a cat (at least she thinks so) who helps her overcome her dark thoughts... Especially when he turns into a human. Spice, overcoming depression and much more - definitely a rec!
Sakaki the lazybone shows his talents at night
There's this one loser in the office, who seemingly can't do anything right. He looks like a nerd, acts like a nerd... But maybe, truly, he's a hot freak in the sheets! This one is perfect for those who like loser simps... Yeah this one will satiate your lust.

Overview: Sneaking out to do your emo brooding would only work so long until you got sick. Worse, the one you wished for the least to be by your bedside....is, by your bedside.
Warnings: Mentions of incidents that can happen at night in the city, some of which can be a little scary. Light yandere.
A/n: I am so sorry for the delay! Exams and artblock have hit me like a truck! I will still try to write on a regular basis. There's a lot I wanted to add to this fic, but couldn't because I knew I'd fall into the loop again. I'll probably write some new plots for a bit, so expect a poll! I hope you enjoy! 3754 words!
You knew your mistakes would eventually catch up with you, but not like this!
It had all started with a simple whim.
Recently, you had begun to miss the way you could hang out on the streets. You used to laze around with your little group out by the town square during the evenings.
The air was always clouded by smoke by then, if someone could get a drunkard to buy it for them. Hell, you had even tried it once or twice once the older kids thought you looked grown enough…and coughed your lungs out. It was humiliating during the time, but hey, it was the best anti-smoking campaign ever put out there. You were on the straight and narrow….kind of. Shoplifting wasn't a drug, right?
It was always nice to watch the office people leave the bars and head into the stations. If you were especially lucky that night, you could see some really funny scenes, and some odd people- of course. Drunken people slipped often, and if they were with their bosses, major screw-ups always seemed to occur.
Other times, though, it was kind of scary. When the street-lights turned on for the night, you had to be very careful on which crowds you were near. A lot of people got agitated at night, or even downright aggressive. The worst part was that nobody seemed to really help. God, how many times has it been that you've run from some crazy drunk?
Obviously, you didn't miss those moments. The amount of alcohol you had smelled on people's breaths was enough to put you into rehab. Besides- you always kept to the farthest side of the smokers. You weren't able to really clean your clothes that often, and the smell practically clung to everything in it's vicinity.
What you truly missed was the cold air- the way your breath would cloud on winter nights. Your hands and cheeks would be frozen to death, so whenever the group had decided to slip into a store- they would puff a bit and be just a little too warm. Plus, you never had to worry about any bedtime; you could have stayed in the square practically forever- if the cops didn't check the spot out.
Unfortunately in the group home, brooding by yourself in the cold was practically impossible. Rei seemed to invite himself to accompany you every single time you went out, and his joyful appearance was…
…well, not the look you were going for.
If you tried to brood just outside of the group home, that was also a problem. No matter how much you tried to get that idiot to stay in the house, oh look, who brought you gloves three minutes into your own, completely private, time. Just so your hands wouldn't get cold and puffy. Even a jacket if he felt it wasn't enough.
Guess who also would not leave until you put them on? That's right! Rei.
Stupid, stupid Rei.
With your little discovery, you had been sure that you would triumph this week.
While watching some of the children, out of pure boredom, playing hide and seek, you had witnessed a little girl slip into the bushes at the front of the group home. She wasn't caught until the very end, despite blatant attempts to find her.
Of course, given she was fully submerged in the bushes and at least a foot shorter than you…it wouldn't fit the same way, but the shrubbery was large. You just needed to be concealed enough and Rei to be distracted for it to all come into place.
It wasn't hard at all for the latter to happen. Rei was rather well-liked at the group home. Many of the younger kids always asked him to play with them. Even with dolls, despite him being unable to do any funny voices…or any voices at all.
Being hidden in the bushes was more of the problem. You were too tall to just sit in the bushes, you more so had to lay on the ground and wait for enough time to pass. Rei always seemed to search for you the minute he noticed you were gone. Certainly, telling the headmistress you were going to be around made that search a little slower…however, stuffing your blankets with pillows on your bed seemed to be much more effective.
He didn't seem to bother you if you were sleeping; something you had learned quickly after your first, uninterrupted day of bumming around in the cold.
It had worked for the first few days, in fact.
Until…Friday.
You had taken a bit too much of your sweet time in the evening. You had gotten too cocky, and even decided to use your jacket as a picnic blanket, so dirt wouldn't get onto your clothes.
It was cold, but not too cold to freeze to death now that the weather was finally warming up. You didn't have your jacket on, so you had decided to lay on it for warmth amongst the dewy grass. It had been so comfortable, and you had been neglecting your sleep for so long, that you had eventually fallen asleep.
Seeing that, the clouds had so decided to make it rain all throughout the night. To torture you. Though it was not a torture that wasn't unavoidable. Only if you had decided to watch the weather channel in the morning, then this could all have been avoided…
You were only fortunate that you had been the one to find yourself face down in the muddy soil, with your clothing drenched instead of anyone else, especially not Rei. His brain unfortunately still worked only a little bit to know that you were not a spontaneous early riser who liked to sit in mud. It would have been hard to leave the sleeping quarters anyway, for Rei always seemed to wake up just at the worst moment.
Entering at such an hour was inconspicuous enough. However, you had found it too much of a hassle to change your wet clothing, and much forgot that you had a whole jacket- your only jacket out there. It's not like you wore it much anyway, it looked dorky.
Besides, you needed to get used to the cold. You couldn't stay here forever, lest you become too dependent on the luxuries a warm house to go back to provided. Something, you had been quickly reminded of after you went to bed.
For when you had woke up in the morning to help with breakfast, you had…immediately fell on the floor with your sinuses pounding against your head and a sudden ache in your muscles.
Dammit. You were sick. For no discernable reason, at all. Yeah, you went to sleep in wet clothes. Twice. And…you also were in the cold for about a week straight and refused any sort of way to be reasonably warm outside. You were also around disgusting little children all day and didn't think about maybe washing your hands more than necessary. Still, it wasn't your fault!
You should have gotten up from the floor, really. Yet a sort of laziness etched your mind and, you really couldn't be bothered. Even after hearing the headmistress call your name out…somewhere, and panicked footsteps tapping against the floor…You figured it was..somewhere…not important.
…You drifted back asleep.
It had only felt like a second before you awoke once more. Somehow, the floor felt cozier than usual, warmer. You'd open your eyes, squinting in preparation of the morning sun, only for the room to be dimmed. You'd look down at your covers, then your bedframe.
Oh. You were in bed…Somehow. Did you just dream about sleeping on the floor? No…your dreams usually weren't that boring. Who dreams about sleeping? Your brain drifted across the second conclusion, but you quickly shook that off. Not because it wasn't plausible, but to protect your sanity.
…You just hoped it was the Headmistress who had put you back in bed.
How long had you slept anyways? Ten minutes? Twenty? It was still a little dark in the room, so you'd have to assume it was still a little early. However, the bunk bed besides yours was completely empty…and the girl who slept on the other bottom bunk was a late riser.
You'd sit up, stretching a bit. Your sinuses felt a little better, and…your muscles still ached the same…
…Well, if you were up, then you were basically better. Right?
All that time hanging in the square had taught you one thing: if you could stand, you were healthy enough. The school nurse would most likely beg to differ, but to each their own.
You were better enough to not waste your weekend. Besides, you had already wasted part of your morning by sleeping, what was it, ten? Eleven?
Your eyes would glance around for a clock, before catching the digital alarm clock on the window sill. It had only been put in the bedroom recently, a donation, or something? It could barely set alarms with how broken it was, but when it worked, oh boy…
It was only unfortunate that the window sill was too far for your hands to reach from the bed. You wanted to throw that thing every second it beeped. On your worst mornings, you really had to plot to silence that thing for good.
You squinted at the clock, reading the time.
One…in the after-
ONE IN THE AFTERNOON?
You had really done it this time haven't you? You couldn't just help but waste your time! One blink and the day would be practically devoured!
Throwing off your blankets, you practically jumped out of bed. However, the floor that your feet landed on…did not feel like it at all.
Your brain buffered for a moment as you tried to realize what was going on. Though a wheeze of air coming from the ground did it for you.
You immediately yelped, your legs immediately swinging onto the mattress once more. Dammit, did you accidentally step on a kid?
You paused and waited for a few seconds, hearing nothing else. Slowly, you would peer over the ledge of the mattress…
Only to see the one face you hoped to not see today, and…basically everyday.
Laying on a singular blanket and pillow next to your bed, was Rei, with that same stupid, stupid, smile. He immediately sat up after you finally acknowledged him. How long was he even there? Was he there when you stepped out of bed the first time? No…that was stupid, also, weird.
But Rei was also..weird and stupid so you…couldn't really rule that out.
Actually, no, wait…he always gets up earlier than you when he helps with preparing breakfast. Brown nosing took precedence over being a nuisance to you.
Most of the time, anyways.
He began to wave a little as you glowered at him, trying to give him the signal to get lost. Unfortunately, he never seemed to get the hint. You weren't really sure why. God had really given the most annoying person the most social resilience in the world, and you were the one stuck with him.
"Morning." You had murmured in passing, not particularly wanting to deal with his antics this time, pushing back your covers for the second time in a row today. You had things to do today. Things that, probably didn't include sitting around and spending time with some loser who still abided by a curfew.
Just as you were about to get out of bed for the third time, Rei lightly pushed the covers on you again, patting your shoulders. What was his deal? You couldn't tell if he had gotten too much, or too little attention as a child.
What? Was your greeting not good enough for a guy who couldn't even speak?
"..Good morning, Rei." You had gritted out, glancing for a second before you pushed the blankets away from your body again. For the fourth time.
…Only for him to immediately put it back onto your frame, a much longer pause before he released the blanket as he practically stared into your soul. He was trying to convey something, you knew it. You just didn't know what exactly that was. Not like you'd stick around to figure out what.
You pushed the blanket away.
He pulled it back.
You pushed it away, harder this time.
He pulled it back with the increasing swiftness of a housewife putting away sheets.
You threw the blanket at his face, suddenly becoming a world class baseball pitcher..not really. You had kind of aimed at his chest on accident instead.
..Which, gave the perfect moment for him to hold the sheets over your head, as if you were some demented bird who would only calm in the dark. Though, given that you weren't a bird, it had done quite the opposite. You were slowing seething as the seconds ticked.
Finally, you snapped.
"Just spit it out! What do you want?" You had blurted out in anger, throwing the blanket off of your head, and onto the floor. Quickly after, you had realized the clerical error in your words. Not like you had the gall to care at this moment, though. You were sick and tired of these games!
…
A long pause filled the room with suspense as Rei's gaze turned to the floor, and flickered towards the blanket. He was thinking, seemingly, as his joyful expression had been switched to a focused one. Your impatient heart had made it hard to wait to actually know what he was saying. He knew sign language! He knew how to write! You had seen him do it to the headmistress-the kids! Even classmates! But no! Somehow, he just had to take none of those options when trying to speak to you!
Finally, he stood up and lifted the blanket off of the ground, before trudging over to you. A hand raised up gently and towards your face slowly. Usually, you would try to avoid contact with this guy, but fine, fine! Whatever got you out of bed sooner! You just wished he'd hurry up!
Rei would feel for your forehead, before taking the hand away quietly, sighing in relief. What? You didn't have a fever!-
Wait.
The blanket would be put back onto your shoulders as he patted them into place again.
Wait.
Next, Rei would pull your arms out of the covers, letting them rest gracefully on the outside.
Wait.
He'd then reach over past you on your bed, before putting some long-forgotten ugly stuffed toy into your arms. You had tried to hide it in the crevices of the bedframe a long, long time ago.
Wait.
Finally, Rei would scooch you just enough to sit on your bed without squashing you, though, it seemed to also act as a weight to prevent you from throwing off the covers so easily.
…Wait!
This was because you were sick! Dammit! You should have never fell out of bed!
That cheerful, idiotic smile would come over his face once more as he turned to look at you. It was like he was mocking you! That asshole! Why doesn't he try to have plans for once in his life? Then you'd so happily disrupt his life as well!
You sucked your breath in, trying not to beat the living heavens out of this guy. Couldn't he go bother literally anyone else who was sick? Maybe he could consider volunteering to take care of the feeble elderly? Hell, you'd even be willing to cough on some kid here just to get him off of your back!
Maybe if you just waited, he'd get bored and leave. Yeah. It's not like he could talk to you or anything, a guy like him would seem to get bored quickly.
…Right?
And so, you held the reins of your pride, before leaning back and beginning to wait. You could almost hear an imaginary clock begin to tick as you did so…there wasn't even an analog clock in this room!
…
…
…
..This waiting was getting awfully long, what the hell was Rei doing in all this time? You shifted your eyes to the right to take a gander, only to see Rei staring…right at you. Weird.
…
As the time, as well as your patience, dwindled, you became a little unsettled by how unwavering his gaze was. Full, direct eye-contact, save for a couple blinks here and there.
…You adverted your gaze.
…
…
…
Dammit, how much time had passed between the second you had decided to lay your deck out, and now, suffering through your bluff? You craned your head to look at the clock.
…
One minute.
One minute had exactly passed since your stupid decision to outwait Rei. You were at the ends of your patience. From waiting one minute. But it's his fault! You could wait much longer if it wasn't for someone staring straight at your face! It was weird! He was weird! You wanted out of here, immediately! You couldn't stay in bed any longer!
Just as you had made the decision to fight your way out of bed, you felt a tap on your shoulder.
You glanced over, before your eyes began to in confusion. A hand..no, a set of hands, Rei's set of hands were in an odd position. No- a position to play rock, paper, scissors! The logical part of your brain told you to just get outta here, but…the competitive part in you- the part that was the reason for all of your stupid decisions- told you to absolutely crush him. You knew he'd never leave you alone today, even if you got out of bed, so why not make a little wager?
Giving a glare, you'd ready your position. "Best of three. If I win…" You'd peer into his eyes, trying to gauge his reaction. "…I'm going to the convenience store alone. If you win, you…" Your voice would trail off, as you would think. Well, you didn't want to give him the good end of the stick, nor did you know what he wanted out of this stupid day he was trying to spend with you. You thought and thought- that was until his hand reached out to point towards your sleeve.
Your eyes trailed to what exactly he was pointing to. A mud stain? Oh..that's right, you forgot to change out of yester..night's clothes. What? Why the hell would he want your shirt! Your face turned to a disgusted one.
"I'm not giving you my shirt!" You would whisper-shout, for frankly, you didn't want someone to hear this conversation. Didn't Rei know taking people's shirts was weird?
Rei seemed to shake his head, giving a cross motion with his hands. You had guessed wrong, this time. His hand pointed again to your muddied sleeve, before his head tilted innocently.
You flinched at the realization. He didn't want your shirt- he wanted to know what happened to your sleeve! But if you told him what happened to your sleeve, then your late-night rendezvous' would be over, forever!
…
You sucked your breath in, giving a nod. Fine, fine! You'd play. It's not like you couldn't lie about what happened. Well. Kind of. It's like Rei could sniff out lies like a hound dog. But it's not like you really cared if he knew you were lying, right? He just stares at you until you tell the truth.
You'd ready your position again.
Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!
Round one, you had cleverly chosen paper, the underdog option! It..was unfortunate that Rei had also chosen..the underdog option.
Second round! Rock! Only fools like him would immediately go for the predator instead of the prey. He was bound to lose!
Third round! Rei would never choose rock again! It was a fool's gambit that beat even the smartest of alecks, and he would be the sore loser! Not one could parry your attack!
And…he parried your attack. Rock again.
Dammit, you needed just one win to, well…win. What, could he tell the future or something?
Over and over, would the rounds continue, each time with the same outcome: a tie. Your hands would slowly become tired as the time grew and the imaginary analog clock ticked. Your patience dwindled, but your competitiveness stayed.
Eventually you had started to feel more tired than you had before. Your eyes had begun to fail on you. Maybe just a minute break would do…yeah. You'd hold a pointer finger up, signaling a break.
There was almost a hint of worry in Rei's eyes, one you couldn't exactly trace the reason to. Yet, you were more disturbed with how heavy your eyes felt. You'd just have to rest them for a minute. Just one. Signaling Rei to keep track of the time by pointing to the clock, you'd turn over, letting your eyes close.
…
The clock had ticked a minute, then two.
Three, four, five.
Rei's hand had stayed stationary, hovering over your blanketed form for quite long after the first.
Perhaps it had been on purpose for him to choose rock-paper-scissors while you were too sick to realize your movements were delayed. Perhaps he was just happy you wanted to spend time with him.
The faint sound of children running was replaced with calm, heavier steps against the floorboards. The door slowly cracked open as the Headmistress peeked out with a tray atop her hands.
"…Oh my, they're asleep still? Without even lunch?" The woman would ask, with a whisper, trying not to wake you. In return, she would receive a slight wave of the hand in response.
Rei's hand would go from his right to his left in a solid motion, signalling everything was fine.
A sort of hum would come from the headmistress, "Well, alright then..just try to get them to at least eat something later today, okay? I'm really worried for your friend here!"
The door would quietly click shut, before footsteps trailed down the hallway again. The slight sound of children playing came to once more.
His hand slowly dipped as he considered waking you once more, but your turned-away face had made that hard to exactly do.
Maybe he'd let you rest just for a tiny bit longer.
Summary: It’s your birthday! He really hopes you will like his gift, but don’t ask him about it.
A/N: This is a standalone short story featuring Maksim, a love interest from "The Man of My Dreams", a free to play visual novel that will be released on the 1st July. Please support us by playing the demo!
Although well versed in the intricacies of magic and science, Maksim is new to desire.
He stares down at the rows upon rows of flowers. Were you the type to be enthralled by roses? Or maybe you prefer the bright colours of tulips. Is it too cliche to buy you flowers? Would it hurt to buy a bouquet, and maybe some dessert?
Maksim recalls your gift to him. A pair of binoculars, sky blue with golden embellishments. The lenses, beautifully polished and of high quality, perfect for his bird watching escapades. Heat rises up to his ears at the memory of your bashful expression as you offer him your wrapped present on his birthday. He didn’t even make it past a “Thank you” before you flew off into the sky on your bike.
Now that your birthday has rolled around, it is time he returns the favour.
Perhaps, a more personal gift would be to your tastes. He buys a bouquet of white roses and although he is in no rush, he lightly jogs towards a hardware store. Maybe it’s the vision of you beaming up at him with a new set of screwdrivers that makes his heart race, or the urge to see you fawn over a new toolbox that causes him to move faster. He wonders if you yearn to watch him use the binoculars you gifted him the same way he wants to watch you hard at work, eyes bright with passion and hands tinkering away with whatever diabolical contraption you occupy yourself with at that moment. In his defence, Maksim has never been known for his patience outside of birdwatching, but even this level of frenzied searching is below him.
His eyes land on a lovely new toolbox, one with too many screwdrivers and bolts for him to comprehend what they could possibly be used for. It’s a far cry from what you might have had in your damaged workshop, but using Emilio’s basic toolkit definitely isn’t viable for a complex invention such as a flying machine.
Without even looking at the price tag, he buys the toolkit, his heart racing with anticipation. His heart flutters all through the afternoon, his ears tipped the same hue of pink that now bleeds into the serene evening sky. Maksim’s blood rushes so rapidly that he can hear it, so loudly that he barely registers the fact he’s knocking on your door.
“Oh, hello Maksim what brings you-”
“Happy Birthday.” He interjects haphazardly, thrusting the bouquet and toolkit into your arms before trundling off at such high speed that even your mechanical wings would not catch up with him.
