I think it is common knowledge among cosmetics enjoyers to use a face primer to have the make up last longer and to have a better and smoother base, so I’ll share a tip about eyes!

An easy way to add value is to balance out lighter and darker colours. Apply the lighter colours on the eyelid and the darker colours in the crease and external angle. That should give depth to your gaze! Colour theory is really important to reach make up’s full potential, so don’t disregard it!!

You can use any colour you want! Make up is about having fun as well, but there will inevitably be combinations that work better with your eyes. Shape is also important! Certain looks work best with specific eye shapes. Mascara pulls everything together, but don’t forget about eyebrows! They really make the difference for an intense look!

Step Three: Spot Concealing

Under-eyes? Forehead? Chin? Ignored. We're talking tactical spot cover-up here. I dab cream concealer (not liquid—liquid is drama waiting to happen) on my blemishes and let it sit like it’s marinating. Cream concealer is buttery smooth and plays well with others. Liquid? It’s like the frenemy who ruins every group hang.

Step Four: Brows That Speak Fluent Attitude

Do you need to sculpt your brows? No. Does it make you feel like a CEO of slay? Absolutely. I use tinted gel to get them fluffy and fierce, then carve them out with concealer that’s lighter than my dignity when I trip in public. Then. Blend it all. The spots. The brows. The regrets. All of it.

Step Five: Eye Drama (in a Good Way)

Mascara time! Coat those lashes like you're icing a cake—aggressively and without mercy. Then slap on some eye pencil under the eyes to make your gaze look ✨intentional✨ like “yeah, I did wake up like this, and no, I won’t share my secrets.”

Step Six: Foundation Nation

If you’ve got flawless skin—skip this. If not, welcome to the cover-up club. I use the tiniest dot and brush it in like I’m painting fine art. Beauty blender is optional unless you want to be fancy and bounce it like your life depends on it.

✨ Next move: Operation “look less like a sleep-deprived zombie.” I go in with a lighter concealer under the eyes, a dab on the chin, and a touch on the forehead—just enough to fake vitality. Blend it all out with a beauty blender like you're softening the chaos in your life. Then comes setting powder—a saviour and a saboteur depending on your technique. DO NOT slap that stuff straight onto your face unless you want to look like you're cosplaying a powdered donut. Tap it on your hand first, then gently apply for that smooth, flawless finish. You’re welcome. 🧁

Step Seven: Contour Magic

Contour = fairy nose dreams. Don’t blend down unless you want your face to look like it’s sliding off. Start small and build, because subtle sculpting > harsh lines. I especially contour my nose because Cindy Lou Who is cute and all, but she’s not my aesthetic.

Step Eight: Bronze Babe

Swipe some bronzer across your forehead and just above where you contoured—trust me. Bonus: a dab under your brows adds drama without committing to full glam. It’s giving... effort without trying.

Step Nine: Blush Flush

Liquid blush is my BFF but never apply straight to your face, unless you enjoy losing all your coverage in one tragic swoop. I dab it on a brush first and gently pat it onto my cheeks like I’m blushing over nothing (lies. It’s the glow).

Step Ten: Highlighter Highlights

Tiny pop in the inner corners of your eyes and a lil’ swipe on the nose. It’s subtle sparkle that says “I’m glowing, but like... mysterious.”

Step Eleven: Lashes—Now We Curl

By now, your mascara should be dryer than my humor. Heat those lash curlers (yes, with a lighter—don’t burn your face, okay?) and curl like you’re lifting your entire mood. Skip this and risk bald lashes. You’ve been warned. xx

Final Boss Level: Gloss & Serve
