I sketched this scene out while Primum non nocere was still coming out. It's from chapter 5 of @aughtpunk 's fic on Kallamar, from her Forgiveness of the Lamb series.
This moment always stood out to me.

Another old drawing. In hessian (and other german) legends the ladies in white are almost always described with white or monochrome dress, keychain and flowery in their hair. Here two spinning.
Oh hey, I came across my old sketchbook again, and decided to share some of these here (I actually had prepared to post some of them already some time ago, but then that got derailed).
This here is from 2020, depicting the story of Rhodopis. It was written down by Strabo and Aelian in the 1st and 2nd centuries a.d. It is by some scholars considered the first version of Cinderella, though only the section wuth the trial of the shoe is present. Rhodopis was also a real historical character, a hetaira (ἑταίρα) from Thrace (around modern day Bulgary), who was freed by the brother of Sappho, Charaxus. She was able to get rich and send a donation to the temple in Delphi, which lead to many legends to form around how she got so rich. Some of these were transcribed by Herodotus, though even he found them ludicrous.
When I drew this, the italian wikipedia article on Rhodopis still only gave the plot of Shirley Climo's 1989 retelling of the tale, so here the woman is washing her clothes rather than bathing and a hawk carries the shoe instead of an eagle.

Aspetta, aspetta. Mi è venuto. Mi è appena venuta l'idea. Mo ci lavoro...
After Woolhaven, I redrew the scene of the dragon battle from my AU Cult of tales. It fit so well to use poor Valac for the sea beast.
In case you didn't know, this AU is basically the first story from Matteo Garrone's Tale of tales, but with Leshy as the King of Longtrellis, which is called Selvascura (Darkwood) in italian. I thought about adapting the other tales too, but I haven't fully figured out some details there. Like what animals Imma and Do- wait. Wait, wait, wait! I got it! I just got it! Back to the drawing board!
the duality of (Sand)Man
I find it funny how two romantic writers, with a big influence on fairy tale literature, both wrote short stories on the Sandman, with such different appearances. One a sweet little storyteller, in colourful clothes and wuth silly umbrellas, who shoots sweet milk in the eyes of children to get them to bed; the other a gothic boogeyman, who rips out the eyes of kids who were up past bedtime and feeds them to his own spawn (plus a xenophobic identification). It was always crazy to me how both these quite opposite depictions eventually convened into the sleepbringer we know today.

the Fowl
did a quick sketch of Goat's version of the Fox. Still need to figure out how to draw her hood.
Dan's retirement plan is being discussed.
