Now there is, just because you're my new favorite.

Before we get to the prompts, I have to deal with The Cringe. When you gaze upon these, keep in mind that I have delusions of being clever and a tendency to over-engineer things. I wanted Maikka Week to be as accessible as possible, and I thought the way to do that was:

Extend the 'Week' into a Fortnight, so there is more time for people to participate.

Provide more prompts than can be used for the event, so that people can pick and choose the ones they like without feeling an obligation to do all of them. And since we're doing a Maikka Fortnight, I have to make sure I have more than 14 prompts so that people will get that they don't need to do everything.

The end result was an intimidating two weeks and 21 prompts that no one knew how to react to except the friends who just made their best efforts to indulge me and the few actual Maikka fans who decided to persevere despite my efforts. This is why I included an option in that poll for "Loopy shouldn't be leader of Maikka."

(But those people did produce some good stuff, so my regrets are minimal despite my humorously self-deprecating presentation of this history.)

Now, with the mess you're about to see explained, here's 84 'theme' prompts and 10 "gosh I hope this ideas sparks someone's creativity but I don't know what people who draw actually go for" prompts:

Thanks for the ask, Anon! Apologies for taking forever to get to this…had to take a few months off, but it’s nice to be back.

Honestly, as a multishipper, my favorite ships are just a product of who my favorite characters are: Sokka and Mai, with Azula as a close third; I’m also a major Aang and Ty Lee enthusiast.

So Maikka, the pairing I’ve shipped the longest and written the most for, is my bread and butter. Sokka and Mai have such a vibe that just putting them in a room together makes for a fun fic, but I prefer throwing them in bizarre scenarios—like a Water Tribe victory AU, lunchtime at the Royal Fire Academy for Girls, vacation resort cooking class, and Super Bowl party which they couldn’t care less about. As characters, both of them are often underestimated and sidelined by both the narrative and fandom, but they’ve got such strong characterization and so much potential…I just love them lol. And I can credit that to the OG Maikka shipper, Loopy, whose fics are legendary.

Sokkla is another one I’ve always enjoyed, mostly because Sokkla shippers are like platypuses. You look at those things like, “Where in the world did all this come from? It’s awesome!” Their enthusiasm is infectious in the extreme. I’ve also written for Kataang and Ty Lokka—both great ships, and Azulaang, Ty Laang, and Maiaang are all ones I’d like to write for at some point in the future. Mostly I want to see the girls treated right by a guy they deserve (and who deserves them), which makes Sokka and Aang supremely shippable imo. On the other side of that, Zuko is probably my least favorite of the main cast (a capital crime in this fandom, I know 😅) but I do really like Maiko and even Zutara when it’s not just stale tropes and self-insertion wearing Zuko and Katara like skin suits.
