"Settle down, there, drama queen." 🥺💖
also for @magiicisms who requested the same! This one got adjacent to suggestive, just fyi
"This is the worst thing that's ever happened to me," Buck says.
"Really? This?" Eddie asks.
The look Buck gives him from over the top of the suitcase he's just upended could sear flesh.
"Maddie is going to kill me," Buck says. He grabs Eddie's clothes off the floor and scatters them, searching. "Fuck that. Chimney is going to kill me."
"Uh huh," Eddie says. Technically, they should both be getting dressed. Buck should already be in his suit, and he should already be on his way to the bridal suite to prepare to walk Maddie down the aisle.
"This is all my fault," Buck moans, dropping the pile of clothes back on the floor.
Eddie should be heading back to his own hotel room and putting on his clothes for the wedding, too, but there's no way he doesn't get caught making that particular walk of shame so he's happy enough to stall.
"What about Jee?" Eddie asks, light.
"Yeah, she's gonna kill me, too," Buck says, and then pauses with a pair of jeans in hand, the pockets turned inside out. "Wait--"
"Settle down there, drama queen," Eddie says, finally deigning to get out of bed and track down his briefs. Buck's eyes linger heavily on Eddie's still naked form and Eddie likes that a whole bunch. "Do you remember, by chance, running into Hen and Karen at the airport yesterday?"
"Yes," Buck says slowly like he's not sure what the connection is.
"Do you remember Hen suggesting that since she's best person, she should be in charge of them?" Eddie asks.
Buck is quiet for a minute and then his shoulders drop away from his ears. "Well, I do now."
Eddie pats him consolingly on the chest and starts looking for his shirt.
"You were just gonna let me stew?" Buck asks, pouting.
"You're cute when you're flustered and I thought it'd come back eventually," Eddie says. "These lapses in memory common for you?"
"No," Buck says, producing a pair of shoes that look like Eddie's from under the piles of chaos Buck had created while he tore the room apart looking for wedding rings he didn't have. He hands them to Eddie and then presses up close to kiss him. "Only happens when a really, really hot guy screws my brains out the night before."
Eddie bursts out laughing and Buck starts fishing around in the piles of clothes for Eddie's jeans.
"Oh, well, in that case, I guess that's just gonna have to be something you get used to," he says, trying for staid and concerned. He misses drastically. "Sorry about that."
Buck throws the jeans at Eddie's face and starts laughing himself.
"I have to get ready for the wedding," Buck says. "I'll see you down there?"
"See you in a couple hours," Eddie agrees, and indulges himself in one last kiss before he leaves Buck to shower in peace.
He runs into Hen in the hallway not three steps away from Buck's room. She lifts an eyebrow at him but doesn't say anything.
"You've got the rings, right?" Eddie asks her.
She holds up the box. "Buck forgot I had them, didn't he?"
"Yeah," Eddie agrees.
"And he...called you into his room to help look for them?" she suggests, but the amusement in her voice has Eddie reaching to cover what's probably a glorious hickey on the side of his throat.
"Something like that," Eddie agrees, more than aware he's blushing.
"Uh huh," Hen says, the corner of her mouth twitching.
"We'll, uh, we'll tell everyone later," Eddie promises.
Hen nods and lets him run off back to his room. His phone lights up the second he's safely inside and he glances at it on his way to the shower. It's a text from Buck, pointing out that they'd definitely save on hotel fare if they just...shared a room for the rest of the trip.
Buck is still in the shower by the time Eddie's negotiated with the front desk and let himself and his suitcase into what's now their room. Buck beams when Eddie joins him in the hot water.
"Good idea," Eddie says.
"I have them sometimes," Buck replies, kissing him. It's the kind of kiss that makes Eddie's toes curl.
"We can't right now, because if I make you late to her wedding, your sister will absolutely kill me," Eddie says.
Buck sighs and plants one last quick kiss on him. "Drama queen."
