I had a few questions about livs age and I cant remember if you mentioned any of these in the mag series š how old was liv in s1 of mag? like 25/26? i think we talked about that one a bit. how old was she when she was taken from her family? and how old was she when she left the red room? + around what age would she have started kind of going against dreykov before leaving? or did she just leave out of the blue?
i donāt think iāve ever specifically mentioned her age but in s1, i pictured her about the same age i assumed matt was (in my head, im right about it too. idk if anything ever specifically talks ab his age either) which is about 26 yeah. so by the end of the netflix canon, she shouldāve been about 32. i think i have her about 2 years older than yelena but younger than nat.
she was given to the red room when she was two years old. her parents were approached several time for a few months after she was born but her mom didnāt want to give her up. marina (mom) decided to take her on the run but after a few years and a dozen different cities, rafael (dad) got tired of it and made the āhard choiceā to have her over for a fat check
now her red room background⦠so i started piecing this when i started playing with the ideas of her void rooms. it kinda starts when sheās nine, the first time she has to kill someone herself. she was told it was only gonna hurt him but she watches a boy her age die bc of her. then thereās when sheās a few years older and june is brought in, livia is challenged to kill her to āprotect her legacyā in the red room. she refuses, obviously, but it really lets those seeds of doubt take root. iād say she left when she was 20/21?
(tiktokās threatening to mute this one) practically all of livās friends are problematic and we love that for her // @fallingfavourites @see-the-divine
at this point, iām gonna have an edit for every freaking song in this musical // @fallingfavourites
makes every edit but the mattlivia silver spoon // bonus points to whoever knows where the voiceovers come from // @fallingfavourites

JJ with silver spoon šš (trying to come up with a ship name for them)
āSHE GOT OUT BEFORE THE GRADUATUON CEREMONY! SHE CAN BUT SHES SCARED!!ā I SCREAM AS THEY DRAG ME BACK TO THE WHITE PADDED ROOM
(but maybe their last names. does june have one? [i ask bc i genuinely cannot remember])
this is solely bc inspo struck and i wanna write another scene that kinda mirrors this later in her black widow story // i wrote all of this literally right now // anyway hereās what i consider juliviaās first meeting // @fallingfavourites
The girl didnāt have the same strength Livia did.
She sported a much smaller frame with delicate looking limbs, but the markings of her suit were undeniable. The red triangles that followed the curves of her waist, the tilted hourglass of a visor across her mask in the same shade.
She was a Widow, a new type that Livia had no information on. When Livia reached out with her own powers, she expected to find the same blankness other Widows who came for her had, but this one didnāt have it. She was aware of herself in the same way Livia was.
Even still, Liviaās power seemed to hit a wall. A surface-level reading was all the woman could manage.
āHe found another.ā Livia mused, prowling around the girl like a predator. The girl spun in time to keep Livia in front, but that familiar bitterness tinged Liviaās tongue. A full Widow wouldnāt be intimidated so easily. āWhat type of mindwork can you do?ā
āMindwork?ā The girl answered. Her voice was flat as she tried to mask her true feelings.
It didnāt work.
āThatās what Dreykov called it, wasnāt it?ā Livia stopped and smiled a smile that was anything but friendly. āAnd donāt try to tell me-ā Livia tapped the emblem at the base of her throat. ā-you arenāt his. Your suit is a dead giveaway to those who know.ā
āSo were you.ā She spat and there was venom in those words. Livia latched onto that anger and toyed with it.
āThe mask sets me apart but trust me. I know more of what heās put you through more than anyone on this planet.ā
āYou were his favorite.ā She spoke quietly as the realization sunk in.
āYouāre quick for someone so⦠young.ā Livia taunted.
The girl ahead of her palmed one of the blades from her thigh. Livia reached behind her and pulled one of her own. The girlās head shifted to the blade then back to Liviaās face. Livia didnāt need to see the girlās eyes to know they were blown wide.
āYou see, little one.ā Livia waved the blade as she spoke, careful and subtle movements brought her closer to the girl. āIāve spared too many of his toys.ā
āIām not afraid of you.ā Her voice wavered.
āYou can lie, but your feelings donāt.ā Livia looked around at the yellow haze surrounding the girl.
āWhen you woke up today, you didnāt think you could die. Did you?ā Livia reached the other hand and pulled a second blade. She spun both handles in her palm till the blades were parallel with her forearms. āNeither did I.ā
The girlās feet shifted to a fighting stance. Her empty hand raised into a loose fist to protect her face, but she didnāt have enough training to know how to steel herself, how to stop the tremble. Livia winked before she attacked.
āEverything Iāve done since.ā Livia said angrily, more a growl than anything.
Her knives swung with her fists but the girl was agile. She was able to avoid the brunt of Liviaās blows but the sharp edge of Liviaās weapons were truer than her fists. She drew blood off the small girl, slicing lines along her collarbone.
āHas been a bid to survive.ā Stomach.
āKeep me alive.ā Side.
āProtect my friends.ā Thigh.
āHe wonāt take more from me.ā Arm.
The girl spun away and Livia swiped along the back of her shoulders. The girl stumbled away, panting heavily as her suit became more red than black. With a frown, Livia tucked a stained blade away.
āYield.ā Livia warned. She grabbed the girlās bicep and yanked her close. The girl squirmed, her small knife clattering to the ground as she clawed for Liviaās hand. Livia scoffed and slammed her knee to the girlās lower back, forcing the less than threatening opponent to the ground. Livia wedged her blade between them, the tip threatening the back of the girlās neck. āYield or die.ā
āExodus?ā The familiar voice came from the other side of the rooftop.
An instinct to look at him reared its head but she shoved the idea down. She kept her gaze on the kneeling figure.
āGet out of here.ā She said lowly, a threat in her voice she didnāt remember putting there. āThis doesnāt concern you.ā
āWho is that?ā He asked.
The girl shifted and Livia pushed her blade. A small bubble of blood came and the girl froze. Livia pushed out her power as well, pinning the girl with her own fear.
āDammit, just leave!ā
She was so focused on keeping her opponent incapacitated that she didnāt realize her borderline ally had gotten to her side. He reached for the hand with the knife, trying to pull it away. Liviaās gaze snapped up, in turn stealing the focus on her power, and the girl leapt away.
Livia practically snarled at the man beside her. Before she could scold him, the girl was at his side with a hand on his neck.
āGo stand on the ledge.ā She said calmly. āAnd be silent.ā
To Liviaās shock, thatās exactly what the Man in the Mask did.
Her eyes flicked to the girlās dainty fingers. No wonder she was less than adept at combat. She didnāt need to fight, not when she could command a manās will.
āWhen you woke up, you didnāt think you could die.ā The girl repeated Liviaās words as she stepped closer.
Livia didnāt back down, though she recognized she was losing leverage. If that girl so much as touched her, sheād be at her mercy. Suddenly, the non-threatening girl had all the power to end Liviaās life without raising a weapon.
The girl was the weapon.
āBring him down.ā Livia warned, gripping her blade tighter.
āYou donāt decide that.ā She snapped. āI do⦠Not so tough now, are you?ā She mocked, her head tilting as if she was studying Livia.
āI will kill you for this.ā Liviaās tone was sharp enough to cut stone.
The girl chuckled to herself and it ignited a rage in Liviaās chest. She breathed deeply, fueling the fire to ignite her skin, her muscles, her very breath. Red clouded her vision as she lunged.
The girl sprinted towards the ledge and Livia acted solely on instinct. She flicked her wrist and the blade went flying, burying itself in the ground at the girlās feet. She skidded to a halt and Livia tackled her. With a knee against the younger oneās chest, Livia pulled the gun from her thigh.
She yanked the girlās mask off and pressed the cold metal against her forehead. Livia was met with an all-too familiar set of eyes.
Sheās just an infant⦠Just a little girl. What kind of imminent threat is she that I cannot avoid, Miss?
That hesitation was all the girl needed. Her slender fingers reached Liviaās skin and though the girl winced at the heat, she spoke.
āPut the gun to yourself and get off me.ā She commanded.
Livia fought it. She urged her own anger to burn hotter, to sear through her. Her hand moved of its own accord so she let the fire fade. Instead, she reached for her own lurking desperation.
She would not die of her own hand. She would not die due to the girlās mindwork.
āStop this.ā Livia struggled, hoping to pin her own muscles in place.
The girlās power rolled against her mental walls, battering against it. Her own power wasnāt enough to keep the little oneās influence out.
āYou didnāt think you could die, but you donāt decide.ā The girlās voice was icy.
Liviaās knees hit the ground of the roof with a thud. With a shaky hand, Livia pressed her own gun under her chin. She could feel the Man in the Maskās panic slamming into her. She was focusing too much on keeping her finger away from the trigger to block him out.
Livia watched the girl get to her feet.
āI shouldāve killed you.ā Livia bit out.
The girl lifted a shoulder in a lazy shrug. She turned to the Man in the Mask, waiting silently on the ledge. A new panic welled in Liviaās chest at the unfamiliar helplessness.
Liviaās other hand flexed in her lap. She heard the buzz of her Bite around her wrist and she could feel a faint tingle at her thigh.
A new idea blossomed and she didnāt hesitate. She fired her weapon and the relentless shock hit her leg. Livia yelped and her muscle twitched but her locked arm dropped and she felt the surge of control of her body.
Quickly, she shot over the girlās shoulder. The girl dropped to a kneel and Livia bolted. She tucked the weapon as she reached the ledge and shot an anchor point into the roof.
Livia threw one of the Maskās arms over her shoulder and wrapped one of her around his waist.
āTrust me.ā She said lowly and he barely managed a nod.
She stepped them both off the ledge.
