--STATEMENT--

-this guy's friend visited the magnus institute and they solved his non-supernatural problem, so it seems like if the institute correctly identifies non-supernatural causes of harm, they'll inform the statement givers how to handle them

-Angela: maybe does magic, likes jigsaw puzzles, could possibly kill people violently? Needs a stolen object from the target to do her spooky murder spell.

<- stolen item is a lighter with a picture of a topless woman on it. second lighter mentioned in the podcast, third if we count the lighters in statement #1

-some lag between giving the item to Angela and whenever the murder magic actually kicks in. over 3 weeks.

-Salesa mention!!!

-guy's missing fingers and limping. idk man I think your murder spell is working., maybe wait a few more days before you personally get stabbing

-guy had a glass eye too. and missing teeth,,, my man Im not having a good feeling about this. you shoulda waited this out. could you not be a little bit patient with your murder spell.

-statement giver's getting deliveries now. not even to his house,, the packages are straight up stalking him. box #1 contains severed finger. statement giver immediately loses a finger after that.

-box #2= 2 toes. you'll never guess what happens to out guy Lee.

-time skip. Lee's missing most of his. everything.

-tried to confront Angela about it and she just went 'it do be like that 🤷‍♀️' (specifically, "some hungers are too strong to be denied")

post-statement:

-after Lee gave his statement he got into an altercation with institute staff and lost his tongue in the process. as predicated by his daily delivery.

-Sasha got the arrest records, everything checks out

-Jon sent Martin to investigate Angela. Martin did an absolutely fantastic and diligent job (second time so far, first time was when he knew Polish)

Crow’s Review:

I think that my favorite statements are consistently ones that have more of a “magical” nature. I don’t recall getting a ton like that until later in s5 when things go off the rails and then more in tmp where it seems Jonny is more comfortable writing the unreal. Horrible but realistic events happening is fine, but to me, horror is about what happens past reality. The statement giver in this one has a perspective that’s very intriguing to see from and its extremely amusing to me that he states this isn’t a confession and he didn’t do anything and then in no uncertain terms describes how He Did That. In my book, as far as rational explanations for this kind of thing go, I believe that the curse jumped to the statement giver because he got impatient and killed the guy himself. The part with him visiting Angela and ending up chewing off his hand is so fun and gives such a good peak into some of the Web. 

Very fun detail about Angela having jigsaw puzzles of people

I wonder if Toby knew anything more than he seemed to let on? Seems unlikely with the statement giver’s description but then again the statement giver has quite a biased opinion lol.

Spring’s Review:

Pretty fun! I was excited going into this one and it was certainly earned! Genuinely one of the most iconic statement givers, like Crow said “This isn’t a confession! [confesses]”. Sometimes TMA struggles for reasons for people to give statements, to someone to want others to hear their story. But this one is SO good, i especially love the sentiment of how desperate he sounds “I need this to be all in my head”. It’s good from start to finish. Also, he’s iconic just how mean he is! The horror of the statement is alright! Nothing crazy to write home about but it’s fun, the mailing concept is good. I especially like the “some hungers are too strong to be denied” line, me when I hate a guy so much it loops back into being self-destructive. Really quite good. Also Mikaele Salesa mentioned! As mentioned I really like him, if just for being an iconic character throughout the series, so his appearance was very unexpected and fun!

My immediate instinct says flesh statement, w/ the body pseudo-gore, but I could also see slaughter.

Interesting how recurring lighters are, Jons, Gerrys, this guy’s.

I wish Angela came back! Sweet old lady with a taste for blood. Also a lot better than… Other flesh avatars.

Also shoutout to just a little more Jon characterization in how he feels about his archival team “Useless Ass”.
