Edelweiss has slept five nights through in her crib and with the refolding of the pull-out couch, I have officially moved back into the bedroom after eight full months. This morning was the first she woke up before I came to get her, but I was already awake. Slept terribly, albeit without baby interruption. Forgot just how broken the bed actually is. We start the search for a new one next month.
When I am exhausted and have the ingredients, I bake. This time, Greek yogurt orange cake from some French Instagram account. Did not try to make it aesthetic. Made vanilla icing from some ancient powdered sugar as an afterthought. Also not aesthetic. This thing had better taste good. I had to zest a whole giant orange for this.
Getting some air with Edelweiss while the weather's nice.
Back in November I had Oak rescue a wooden tool chest from the curb. This month, I finally got around the cleaning, sanding, and painting it. Right now, it holds Edelweiss's* extra blankets and bedding, but someday, it will be her toy chest. Design inspired by Tess Newall's murals.
*Edelweiss is a moniker, though her actual name does indeed start with an E. Rest assured I did not name her a Tragedeigh.
