Он основан в VIII до н. э. Ровесник Рима, свидетель походов Александра Македонского, столица империи Тамерлана. Здесь мечети приобретают лазурно-голубой оттенок и плов готовят совсем по-другому. А сама площадь Регистан - это мемориальный комплекс, был построен в XV веке и сейчас включен в список Всемирного наследия ЮНЕСКО. Прекрасная площадь - настоящая жемчужина Самарканда. Приехать в этот город стоит даже просто из-за нее.

Samarkand is one of the oldest cities in the world. It was founded in the 8th century BC. It is the same age as Rome, a witness to the campaigns of Alexander the Great, and the capital of Tamerlane’s empire. Here, mosques acquire an azure-blue hue and pilaf is cooked in a completely different way. And Registan Square itself is a memorial complex, built in the 15th century and now included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The beautiful square is a real pearl of Samarkand. It is worth visiting this city just for it.
