“Absolutely. They’re perfect for fall or spring, not too warm not too cold. Plus, they’re always in style, androgynous, and perfect for pins and patches. Not to mention the added benefit of it really drives home the whole lesbian thing which keeps men from hitting on me.”

“Nothing too fancy. Just an older model Galaxy smartphone. It gets the job done. Or it would if we had any cell service in the palace.”

“Ketchup. Everyone always wants to put it on everything and as a chef nothing pisses me off faster than making a delicious omelette to order perfectly seasoned with delicate flavors just to watch someone smother it with ketchup.”

Rose: favourite scent on a person?

“Something slightly musky and with a hint of spice is always nice on a man....? I think that is what you are asking for, yes? Otherwise, I mostly just care that people smell clean.”

Claret: do you play an instrument? do you want to learn to play any?

“My mother was a musical tutor, so you would think I would be more inclined to instruments. To her dismay though, I take more after Papa. I could probably still remember hot crossed bun on the piano...”

Cream: any piercings or tattoos? do you want any?

“I have a number of tattoos already as well as piercings, including several in my ears as well as my nose and old holes I have let close up in my nipples. I do not particularly plan for more piercings, but now that Matthias knows about Astrid, I will probably get her name tattooed somewhere.” [tattoos post]

Yellow: name of an artist you think is underappreciated

“Fleetwood Mac and by extension Stevie Nicks and her solo career. I know, they’re really big and have a huge following. But it seems like very much a cult following. A lot of people have heard of them, but don’t necessarily listen to their music and they really should. It doesn’t matter how old the band is, the music is timeless. For a not well known artist though I have to go with Andra Day. Her voice is beautiful and amazing and she sings with so much passion and emotion... More people need to know about her.”

Pink: what's your natural hair color?

“Does it really matter? I mean, my hair is red, it has been for years. It looks best that way.... I guess if you want to get technical though, my roots are blonde.” 

Maroon: do you care for clothing brands?

“Major brands? Not really. I end up wearing a lot of gowns and stuff from known designers, but I don’t actively seek them out. I do really like supporting small business and start-ups though. They usually have super cute and comfy clothes and I know my purchases help them out a lot.”

Somewhat by design and somewhat by accident Sasha once again found herself in the company of the Croatian princess. She’d promised to make her chocolate and caramel covered popcorn for the movies the palace was running in the evening and had indeed delivered. As much as she liked the cute, stubborn girl, everything else about her lifestyle made the Russian uncomfortable. She’d been hoping she could just drop the treat and run during the intermission between films. The princess had been alone for the time being though and Sasha’d been persuaded to sit down for a while.

“Cinnamon. I don’t know why, I just feel like it makes my mouth feel cleaner.”
