For the person going to Israel in a group: If you're going through any kind of marketplace for whatever reason, be prepared to haggle. Be politely firm; most vendors are friendly, but some can be extremely pushy. If you know you can't afford something at it's lowest potential price, be wary about compromising with the vendor at all. Either way, be aware that it's considered unusual–rude, even–to back out of a deal once you've begun negotiating.

4: Talk about the thing you regret most so far.I regret not ever learning Spanish. When I lived back home I was so submerged in the culture it annoyed me. I was American, damnit. Stop trying to force me to be Mexican. But once I moved out of Texas, I realized how special and beautiful my culture is, and I often feel like I’m betraying it when people ask me if I speak spanish, and I have to explain why I don’t.Don’t get me wrong, Tex-Mex/Chicano culture is incredible and unique, and Spanglish/Inglesñol is this awesome hybrid mix of texture and color that can’t really be duplicated. But still.
15: Talk about the time you were most content in life.
I won’t name one moment, because there are several. But they all look the same. Me and my friends, on a couch, or outside on a cool night. We’ve eaten way too much. There are drinks, and probably one of those frozen chocolate pies that we don’t even thaw before eating. And there are no plates for said pie. Just a pile of forks and territorial battles. There’s great music playing, and everyone is chatting and enjoying each other’s company. No one is performing. No one is directing. No one expects anything. Everyone just is. And loves.
Sometimes at get-togethers, I wind up sitting on the edge somewhere, really quiet, hoping no one can see how teary my eyes are. Because those moments just… make me. They’re my recharge. I need more of them, really.
