metamorphosis
Liveship traders is a masterclass of storytelling. The stories are tragic because they’re realistic. Everything is perfectly tied together, every brick laid with intention. It looks you in the eyes and tells you this is a tragedy willed by fate. It makes you realize that as painful as the other stories are, they are the ones in which the wheel of time was fixed. Here the characters are beyond saving. No matter how much they claw their way to freedom, their fate is sealed and they are stuck being the worst version of themselves. It makes you understand the stakes to Beloved’s mission, as well as the weigh they carry on their shoulders.
Kennit is probably one of the best written characters I have ever encountered. His story is haunting and every second of it feels like a choreographed catastrophe. He is my favorite character in the trilogy so I’m biased, but I truly think he has no equal.
Oh this? Just the ships boy, Althea- I mean Athel.
