I'm not ripping on the book, it's a great story, but this show has added such a richness and knows exactly where to twist the knife. "I can't do this" instead of just leaving. Ilya putting the mask back on after the call with his father, at the gym, at the club. Shane fumbling around with Rose and making me feel really bad for her, honestly. This episode was like 40% montage and their faces were doing everything.
I wanted Ilya crashing out and I should have been careful what I wished for. A barely constrained, but still constrained crashout.
This is a man who should be on suicide watch.
