Sartor Resartus (Latin for "The Tailor Retailored") is an 1833–1834 philosophical satirical work by Scottish writer Thomas Carlyle. It purports to be a review of a bizarre German study on clothes by a fictional professor, Diogenes Teufelsdröckh, using a "clothes philosophy" to mock materialism and explore spiritual rebirth.
