Well this is the same James that twice drugged Harry on the assumption of cheating, so it's not like there isn't any truth behind what Ste said.

The worst thing about Mac hitting James is that even when he’s confronted about it by his own daughter after just having beat up his son he still truly believes that “he [James] deserved it”. It’s also crazy just how little emotion he showed, he felt zero remorse at having systematically beaten his own son for years all because James fancied boys instead of girls, Mac really was a monster.
James Nightingale stills from today’s First Look.
I just really would like for James to become the new Nightingale patriarch once Mac shuffles (or is pushed) off this mortal coil. He's acquiring new family members at a rapid pace, all of whom look up to him and rely on him. Plus I think it would be a sort of poetic justice that Mac's family legacy has been taken on by the son he loathed rather than his favourite.
Plus, as @jamesandharrystuff says: Harry seems to REALLY like the name 👀
