VF Lotor said that he's not Maahox's lord anymore and kicked him out of their castle after months of strained cohabitation. Maahox is calling him "ex-lord" now. They're literally exes I cannot make this up
Why does Daniel’s Haggarium infection come with painful, minutes-long visions of the villains duking it out? That’s even more annoying than clone!Shiro’s cryptic visions, if marginally more useful to the audience. (Also, mark “glowing purple eyes = ‘infected’ with rage and aggression” down for VF influences on VLD if you haven’t already.)
I actually kind of enjoy the villains’ in-fighting, though. Idk, there’s no guaranteed outcome and their petty banter is kind of entertaining.
One scene in and continuity has already left the chat. Lotor dangles Maahox over the edge of the balcony but somehow doesn’t see the literal legions of clones right in his line of view until Maahox points them out. Also, taking a couple of days off from this show really puts the shitty direction and animation back into perspective — the dissonance between the VA’s delivery and Lotor’s expression and pose is astonishingly weird.
You know who deserves a vacation? Maahox. Maahox deserves a vacation.
Also, chalk "Lotor lures paladins into a trap using an old Altean distress beacon" up to Voltron Force's influence as well.

So … that was quite a day for the Voltron-blogging. We started with the dystopian underpinnings of tech-ninja society and ended with the titular robot being sexually assaulted by an eldritch abomination. Somewhere between those points Sven showed up, Maahox held a baby, Lance had one (1) mildly funny scene involving a door, Keith and Allura got some ship-teasing in, and Lotor was killed at least once (don’t worry, he got better). All that in the span of three episodes.
I will say that this show actually made me kinda nostalgic for the first half of VLD. You know, before we all collectively realized that maybe the show had no proper game plan? Idk, I think I just had this realization while VF Keith was being boring that VLD Shiro was never this boring and that I’d rather watch him bond with Black, and then I got sad. I also realized while watching Maahox and Lotor that I would’ve liked to see an antagonist like Maahox in VLD — not in terms of his garbage-bin design, but his personality and rough place in the plot. Imagine Haggar with Maahox’s personality. We only do bad ideas here
Episode 11 begins with a minute-long, context-free montage of awkward CG robeasts meandering around ugly locations until their eyes glow, followed by another minute of Maahox and Lotor’s sitcom cohabitation antics. I can already feel my soul leaving my body
Less than seven minutes in and Maahox has already had two genuinely funny interactions with other villains. What is going on
