Have to say a thought that occurred to me now at learning this. What’s the odds Otto won’t use that bomb to kill himself at some point? Arc 4 already had Otto parallel Subaru in many ways of thinking I pointed out during my commentary of the Arc and also in LN 16 Emilia called out how Otto was acting exactly like Subaru.

Subaru is obviously prone to killing himself, mhm?

Think it’s fairly plausible that Otto would use the bomb suicide to parallel how Subaru also suicides. The real question to me is moreso if Otto would do it to take an enemy with him or instead to prevent being some sort of critical liability to Subaru. Both would be in character for Otto.

Aight. Away from Otto and onto Lye. Clear signs of abuse for him. Since he is a demi-human (or clearly implied to be one anyways due to his sharp teeth and very inhuman appearance) in Lugunica & hates merchants selling people’s lives + bears whip scars it’s fairly reasonable to assert dude was a slave imo.

The tricky part with Lye is this clothes comment of his where he remarks adults like kids clothes being off. That could easily be taken as sexual violence having been inflicted unto him?

But on the flip side that could be his owners just having liked to see his bare skin whilst they tortured him and Lye getting the warped impression he has from that rather then anything overtly sexual.

Firstly, this description of how Lye gobbles up the names. Stating a name and licking the hand was readily apparent in the Anime obviously. But why the hands precisely I do wonder.

Like. Could you theoretically have a Gluttony kick you as the method of making contact whilst incanting the name then licking the foot to cause a name erasure?

Or is it something specific to hands making contact since symbolically hands are obviously a medium of connection in this series so obviously the power that severs connections like Gluttony would be involved with hands.

Another thing I ponder about Gluttony is this-

-from the Witch’s Trials SS where Echidna made a sus remark about hands and needing that made me think maybe something about that is tied to Gluttony Authorities way of munching people.

Lye didn’t seem to be writing a character on his hand and licking it thrice but this remark from Echidna is still faaaaar too weird to me.

Either Roy or Rui’s Gluttony munching may require that I feel or it’s a case where Echidna was being a troll and describing the conditions Flugel needed to activate his Gluttony Authority.

Alright. With that outta the way. The Melli & Dynas stuff. Meili we saw in SS content for Elsa was found by Elsa due to Capella ordering Elsa to go find the rumored kid with a DP whom could manipulate Mabeasts.

Meili then she seemed to be pretty young all out alone and Meilii was also only surrounded by Mabeasts in the middle of nowhere and completely illiterate and unable to speak indicating she’d never had contact with civilization.

Thus this thing Dynas feels guilty over regarding Meili and this Milian most probably occurred when they were born or very close in age to being born to the point Meili wouldn’t have really remembered being in contact with people.

Dynas’s & the White Dragon Scales homeland is a place that was wrecked by the Black Serpent that Arc 2 Liliana SS dropped on us. So I’m guessing maybeeee what happened is Dynas feels bad for not having been able to save Meili and Milian against the Black Serpent.

However these conjectures don’t answer just HOW Dynas precisely is connected to Meili to have felt this bad over her nor whom this Milian is. A potential answer could straight up be that Dynas is biologically related to both of them. Could also be he was a family friend though. The possibilities are franky endless.

I’m wondering if this Milian is still alive tbh. Meili surviving the Black Serpent wrecking a place could make sense if her DP just makes some Mabeast in the area carry her away to safety. But I don’t think this Milian is gonna have the same sorta things working in her favor.

The easy answer is that Milian is already dead but her getting brought up alongside Meili when for the sake of the plot Tappei easily could’ve just had Dynas have the same reaction to Meili and not introduce some other random name makes me feel this Milian is probably still alive out there.
