It's time for the Philippines to overhaul its eligibility criteria for running for office, from local government units (LGUs) to National. For Nationals, they must prioritise candidates who are not only college graduates but also have a solid legal background. For LGUs, we need individuals who excel in understanding history—both Philippine and global. Ultimately, they should be committed to protecting the country they serve. While helping people experiencing poverty is essential, we cannot forget that a nation's strength does not solely come from kindness. In international relations, survival is predicated on strategic thinking, established protocols, and an unyielding commitment to safeguarding our nation's security. We must challenge the notion of extending kindness and honesty to others when they demonstrate neither kindness nor integrity toward themselves. (meaning inconsistent! waay pa accountability)
