internally caitlin felt some sort of relief, but she couldn’t place from where. but at the same time anxiety grew, she didn’t want to share you with anyone. but now she couldn’t help but worry that one of your other friends is taking your attention and enjoyment. but that’s a story for another time.

guys! i just finished finals!! i have the worst grades i’ve ever had, but its just one tri over the 12 tries i’ll have in high school. Anyways i’ve had this idea in my head all weekend so now that i’m done with finals i can finally write. anyways, i also want to make a jealous version but i want to see how you guys like these headcanons first.

okay so like……. Do y’all remember the scene in season 4, ep 1, “code of honor” where Kolivan physically drags Keith out of the room from saving the other BoM member (I believe his name was Regris)?

This moment. Right here.

Kolivan KNOWS Regris will die. He’s fully aware Keith will too, if he allows Keith to go back inside for Regris. (Then he’ll be down two soldiers instead of one.)

Obviously the VLD fandom is not the best (lol that’s putting it mildly) but one of the things I especially don’t like is that some people tend to soften Kolivan far too early. He starts out (and for most part, continues to be) as a highly tactical, analytical leader who leaves no room for emotion. He’s literally told Keith (NUMEROUS TIMES!!) things along the lines of “emotions are a luxury we cannot afford.” He is pragmatic and extremely logical, allowing no time for big dramatic *feelings*.

personally I headcanon that it’s because he’s probably been fighting this battle for too long. He shows hints of this too. He’s tired, and probably emotionally broken. He might have even lost friends, family, and who knows how many other Marmoran members to this war. He tells Shiro in the first episode we meet him, “So is the fight against the Galra. And yet that is the battle we face,” or smth along those lines, when Shiro points out Keith’s trials are unfair. He sounds weary and exhausted in this moment. He KNOWS there will be too much bloodshed.

I dig into this in my own fic, so again, part of this is just speculation on my part, but I really wholeheartedly believe that Kolivan is a hardened soldier of war who’s just lost too much and sacrificed too many lives. He has a very, very small, soft, compassionate core that is absolutely drenched and BURIED under war strategies and military leadership. It only very slightly begins to show up in later seasons— the biggest hint we get is when he comes and waits for Keith to wake up in season seven’s finale with Krolia. And that’s after THREE SEASONS of knowing this guy.

idk, this is just smth that hit me while I was rewriting the Kral Zera episode for my fic. Like, Kolivan is a smart leader, but it probably didn’t come without a cost. People aren’t born to be so analytical. We’re taught to value feelings and emotions. Kolivan doesn’t, not because he doesn’t care or because he’s cruel, but because he’s most likely just been through too much.

(which allows for SO MANY angst opportunities lol. But anyway.)

so sorry for the late update!! had some health issues + family problems, and we moved locations recently. I'm trying my best to keep up with everything but it's a little difficult.

I’ve been working on writing so much & so I haven’t updated the fic itself in a while (I think like a month??? Sorrrrrryyy pls don’t come for me) but I had to take a break & go back & do some worldbuilding bc I hit a speed bump/roadblock/whatever the phrase is when I was writing in which I realized I had no clue abt an important part of my lore.

anyway the result of that is THIS. I drew out some important logos/flags/emblems. Normally when I draw traditionally I only use wooden pencils but I’ve been experimenting with using pens to ink things & I don’t hate it too much. That being said, these are def going to be redone digitally bc of just how precise they are (& the fact that some of them are pulled directly from canon anyway). anyway lol ignore the shitty art. :3 I would say there are spoilers for my fanfic Voltron: Heart of the Stars but there’s so little context so I feel like it’s alright. I will place a cut tho just in case.

paige bueckers x reader fluff little drabble because idk what to write

you and paige have always been super cuddly and touchy. holding hands, hugging for at least a minute long, cuddling, kissing, etc, etc.

but that’s normal between best friends …right?

well, that’s the question that has been on paige’s mind all night.

i mean, she has other best friends. some nearly as close as you two. yet even the thought of cuddling them weirded her out. but the thought of you not cuddling her, well let’s just say the thought made her sick to her stomach.

she takes a deep breath, continuing to play with your hair. your ear aligned with her heart, your arms wrapped around her as hers are wrapped around your back.

surprisingly you haven’t commented on her deep breath or heart rate. making her look down.

she smiles realizing you finally fell asleep. she leans down pressing a kiss to your head before finally shutting her eyes and calling it a night. because at the end of the day you’re where you’re supposed to be. laying on top of her, cuddled up in her arms and hidden within her embrace.

the question that has been consuming her all night finally answered. no it’s not normal but what you guys have isn’t either. and she’s glad for that.

Gloomy Halloween

It was halloween, and in college halloween meant dressing up and going to 20 parties and bars each.

but this year you weren’t feeling it. why? because this has been one of the hardest weeks you’ve had since high school. this week was filled with constant tests, assignments and big projects due by saturday.

all you wanted to do this halloween was to hangout with friends and let go.

but at the start of the week a few of your friends told you they already had plans and a few of your other friends said they be down to hang out. when you were trying to plan where and when you guys should meet up, they would be hella vague. “[reader] we don’t have any plans right now honestly.”

you tried not giving them a hard time since all of you were busy, but hope on hanging out was diminishing.

Halloween

you were eating with friends, since all of your lunches corresponds that day. that’s when one of your friend emma asks. “lily who’s everyone going out tonight?” you look at your friends confused; and then your friend you were trying to make plans with chimes in “oh yea where are we meeting?”

you listen as your friend lily confirms their question. where they’re meeting and everyone who was going. which low and behold, you weren’t one of them.

you couldn’t help the way your face fell, you grew quiet and take a few more bites and look at your phone.

you could feel emma’s eyes on you, sometimes meeting hers. she looked guilty, but that didn’t matter.

as the day goes on, you try focusing in your classes, but all you wanted to do was cry. why would your friends invite you? what had you done wrong?

when you finally make it home around 4:30ish since your prefessor had to get home early for his kids.

you quickly change out of your costume, something simple for school but more than just cat ears and black clothing. you put on your pajamas and get into bed. you put on your favorite show, ready to rot this horrible day away.

but before you can help yourself, you breakdown into tears. your friends had lied to you, given you false hope and now are hanging out without you.

brother’s bar is one of the most popular bars in all of iowa city. constantly filled with college students ready to party away their college life.

Kate was with some of her teammates, partying for halloween. as kate was going to get another drink she bumps into emma. “shit my bad’ kate says, not realizing “oh! hey emma, where’s [reader]?” kate asks knowing you were going to hang out with friends. “oh um.. i think she’s at home” emma says guiltily before getting pulled away by her friend.

this causes warning signs for kate. all you’ve been telling her for the past week is how you want to hang out with your friends. so kate quickly heads back to her teammates telling them she has to go and practically bolts out of the bar.

before going to your apartment, kate heads to target, somehow still open at this time. she goes to the second story, getting you some fun face masks, jewelry and a sweater she remembers you liked. she head back down stairs getting you some fun drinks and snacks. knowing you, when you were emotional you’d skip eating.

kate rushes to your apartment, mostly worried about what’s going on. you’d never willingly skip hanging out with your friends.

kate uses the spare key you’d given her. she enters in calmly, not wanting to overwhelm you. the lights were off, but your stuff was here.

”baby!” kate calls out, “i thought it would be nice if we had a movie night.” she says walking to your room.

she opens the door just to find you sitting on your bed, with a tv show on your computer. silent tears run down your face as you hold your plushie close.

kate felt her heart break, she closes the door behind her and joins you in bed. “hey baby” she whispers softly. “why are you here all alone?” she asks hesitantly. ”they’re hanging out without me” you whisper through tears. “talked about their plans right in front of me,,, never once inviting me.” your voice breaks, more tears falling.

kate wraps her arms wound you, pulling you close. “i’m sorry baby, you don’t deserve that.” kate says softly. gently rubbing your arm.

you stay silent, tears continuing to fall. kate sighs, “i got us snacks.. you wanna eat baby?” she asks playing with your hair. you shake your head no. kate takes a deep breath before reaching for your computer. “baby get comfy” she says gently, turning the device off. you comply, moving over to give her more space. kate turns on your tv and puts on charlie brown’s the great pumpkin, your favorite.

kate switches into some clean sweats she keeps at your place. you the smell of alcohol and beer is reduced. kate turns off the lights letting the tv illuminate the room. she climbs into bed, and pulls you into her embarace.

the two of you watch the movie in a quiet peacefulness, your tears slowly disappearing. kate presses a kiss to your head. “next year, you and me.” she whispers. “don’t let them ruin your halloween”

for the rest of the night, the two of you watch the Great pumpkin. till falling asleep in each others arms. if there’s two thing kate would never let you feel is unloved or unwanted. so whenever you did, even if she didn’t cause it; she’d sure as hell will fix it.

luna’s notes highkey this is just projection, but i’ve had a really horrible day/week. this is the comfort i wish i had, but i’m single :( anyways i hope you guys enjoy.
