i have a variety of thoughts here. I'm tempted to go for a more dead dove one but i feel like that's against the spirit of the prompt
my pitch for a only one bed childhood friends fic revolves around the idea of the Langdon Family Winter Vacation, they go to a cabin, have fun, ski/snowboard, play in the snow, make a fire, the whole nine yards.
Mel is always invited. and she loves to come along, those vacations represent 10-ish days where she's not the glass child, where she's someone's priority.
only, this year, frank's older sister is bringing her college boyfriend along (and he's planning on proposing).
it doesnt matter how serious the relationship is, they're not sharing a bed on the langdon's dime
mel is asked if she would mind sharing with frank. they're both responsible and frank's parents can trust them in a way they cant with anyone else.
frank's parents figure if anything would have happened between them, it would have by now.
they underestimated how stupid they are, and how strong the mutual pining is
they're in senior year, about to go to college and the risk of growing apart, of being accepted to different colleges makes them reckless.
frank starts it, sleeping on mel during the car ride. head on her shoulder, arms around her waist.
they're normally touchy, but this is a massive escalation. (is frank actually asleep the entire time? that's between him and god, lol)
mel plays with his hair, and when they get there "coincidentally" chooses a room with a twin bed instead of a queen, so they have to snuggle close.
Frank ups the ante, he's sleeping shirtless and in pajama bottoms, and his time working to be better on the track is giving positive results.
they cuddle close, mel in thinner snoopy pj's, she chose them as an excuse to be close to frank, to let him give her warmth.
it feels kinda obvious, but mel wakes up first, and feels his morning wood against her, and pretends to be asleep, waiting for him to wake up
he does, and makes a fool of himself trying to apologize, accidentally implying that he doesnt find her attractive,
mel is hurt, but she doesnt believe him, and decides to make him walk in on her changing
he only sees her back, the bra strap, her moles, but the suggestion, the intimacy is there, and he drops whatever he was holding
romcom shenanigans ensue
part of me feels like it would be cute for them to get snowed in together, after getting separated from the group during a blizzard, maybe frank risking himself to grab mel and keep her from falling off of a ledge while skiing (if i wanna be evil, maybe that's how he hurts his back)
Them making a little igloo, huddling together for warmth,
and mel asks him why he would do that
"God, Mel, why would you even ask that? You're like my favorite person."
Does Frank take off his coat, lay it down on the 'bed' of their improvised shelter, and ruin that bed by Mel riding him?
Duh.
Does he creampie her?
Duh.
god, i'm just imagining frank getting snow down his pants or shirt and trying not to say anything or shiver because He's not fucking stopping this, he's waited forever for it.
They wait until after the vacation to tell Frank's parents they're dating.

Ford can not handle the fact that Stan is going to die and is so much older than him. He overhears the kids wondering if they should try to get another time wish and figures out how to find time police.
He beats the SHIT out of Blendon Blandon and competes in a globnar, immediately using that wish to go back to the day Ford went into the portal. (He wishes to fix his mistake of being sent into the portal and Time Baby was mad at him for figuring out how to "cheat" the system)

hello my love! things have been quite busy on my end and agh, i really gotta find some motivation to just sit down and reread cmar myself again, haha. god, i remember all that planning, all the brainstorming, the late nights i'd take writing up drafts, the tears i'd shed playing scenes out in my head and then writing it out.
one day i hope to get back into it because cmar has my heart in a chokehold. need to get back into that angst T^T
