The Area 16 Glitch I Mentioned, See Previous Post Please.
💬 0 🔁 0 ❤️ 0 · Heads Up for the 2 Lumentale Switch Players · If you’re using the save and reload method where you try and change the weath
Previous post here.
This glitch was very weird like the previous one. It inexplicably teleported Trey all the way over to, and into the rocky part of Area 16 while I was doing the trick. I was able to move him out of it just fine, no need to reload if you don’t mind walking all the way back to the bridge to try again.
Okay so the quest can avoid bugging out so that you can get the rainbow to appear still. If you’re on switch like I am, I recommend surviving this instead, because I found…some interesting quirks if you save on the border of Area 16 and 17.
Footage will be shared later
Lost Mewaii
Hi everyone! Here's my progress so far. I'm still not sure if I'll keep the watercolor paper texture because I'm worried it won't look as good on the blurry background as it will on Lampecko. It will have watercolor effects, while the background will stay blurry to create depth and really make it stand out, so I'm afraid the paper texture might make the two feel disconnected.
I hope you're already enjoying how it's coming along!

Chromaura: When a Neat Evolution Idea Becomes Frustrating
After the patch on the Switch version of Lumentale, I decided I was going to attempt to get every Animon available to me required to complete the dex. Of these, I already dreaded before this patch of obtaining the Animon I am going to be talking about in this post.
Now, I have briefly discussed Minube and Chromaura before in a different post about the evolution methods of Lumentale. However I at most only went over the basics, instead of what exactly it is that makes it terrible even before attempting to evolve Minube. This post will go more into depth over Minube and Chromaura, the method to evolve them, and the sluggish nature of this method and how come it is an exercise in frustration.
———————————————————————
What are Minube and Chromaura?
To discuss the evolution method of Minube into Chromaura, first it would be smart to go over them both in some detail.
First up, Minube. Minube is an Aura type Animon that comes in six different colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple. Occasionally they can have their hidden type of Water as well. All six colors of Minube are rare spawns in specific spots of these following areas: Crimson Cavern (Red), Darkwood Forest (Orange), Area 06 Cave (Yellow), Temple Underground (Green), Suvius Peak (Blue), and Aeolyc Islands (Purple). All six Minube are required for our other subject…
Chromaura. Chromaura shares the same typing and hidden type as all six Minube. It even shares the same weaknesses, resistances, and Aura immunity as all of them, as well as the same abilities. However, Chromaura gains an impressive 158 boost to its BST, going from 402 BST as Minube to 560.
———————————————————————
How Do You Evolve Minube Into Chromaura?
Well, as mentioned above, you require all six colors of Minube to even begin getting close. Another factor is all six need to at least be level 36, not too difficult to accomplish later in the game. However, these two factors are not the end of it, finally there must be rainbow weather active. Rainbow weather can be identified by the icon in the top right of your screen, next to the map, or by a rainbow effect on the left side somewhat.
———————————————————————
How Come This Evolution Method Is An Exercise in Frustration.
As mentioned before, Minube, all six versions needed, are rare spawns. Meaning they can take a good bit to even find their exact location much less spawn one. The spots I listed are simply the areas where they spawn, not the specific places in those areas. This alone makes getting them somewhat tedious like other rare spawns, but the real criminal here is…drumroll please…
🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁
The RAINBOW WEATHER! Lord where do I even begin with rainbow? Let’s start with its rarity, actually. First off, you possibly wouldn’t have noticed weather changes much in game because it feels rather subtle at times, with it only occasionally causing some other animon to spawn alongside the usual ones in specific spots to my knowledge. However in the case you do, it seems that most weather is at least common enough to not force you to suffer. Rainbow weather is the exception, being the rarest, the most rng heavy.
In other words, rainbow weather to evolve your Minube, is tedium, on top of tedium. Now granted there IS a postgame sidequest that would let you get the rainbow weather guaranteed…once. Only in the area you complete the sidequest in. Now granted you need a specific power only available in the postgame to even do so, and maybe by now you’ll know you need a rainbow. But still, if you wanted to use Chromaura BEFORE postgame, you will have to go through rng.
There is a method to manipulate the weather of course (if I am correct running between Area 16 and Area 17, occasionally saving and reloading), but the fact such seems to be the best method and still takes a while is just, sad.
———————————————————————
A Pretty Conclusion to a Painful Evolution Method.
Lumentale, is a fine enough game. It’s buggy yes, it’s painful on switch (coming from me, a switch player), and the evolution methods can be horrible.
I understand why they picked the rainbow weather to evolve Minube in. They are the colors of the rainbow, and become a colorful dragon in Chromaura. Thematically, it makes perfect sense, and should feel fulfilling. In practice, it’s just, bad, to put it lightly. It doesn’t feel even close to fulfilling at the last bits of it, it wouldn’t even make you want to ever evolve more Minube to get any better Chromauras, or even a potential lost variant of it in the future. The rainbow weather, while meant to be special, holds it back greatly, even compared to the already slow process of catching 6 different colored Minube.
For something meant to be so colorful, so joy inducing, it just feels like a dull, colorless method.
Hey everyone! Lately, I've been working on an illustration of Lampecko in the city of Voltar :D
I'm not sure I'll be be able to pull off the background, but I'm gonna do my best!
