Something I’ve been chewing on Destiny wise, is the fact we also didn’t get to see the end of Bael and Lume’s friendship. We see in the Renegades campaign that they care deeply for each other despite their differences and disagreements. Bael of course preferring to focus on myths and the future for Dredgens, while Lume wanted to focus on the Barrant army and taking back his home world. Bael almost has his head in the clouds (or future with VI). Lume is more level headed. They really compliment one another.

But after the Renegades campaign in the lawless frontier activities, they grow more distant and aren’t on the same page at all as the Imperium is falling apart.

Personally I believe when Bael speaks to Savathun and tells her about Taox, takes place before the Oblation mission while Bael is still tied to VI. But I think Bael making a deal with her is one of the tipping points that we don’t see, Probably because the lore team didn’t have time or the space to add in anymore lore especially what we can interpret for ourselves. Lume was permanently injured from fighting her hive the her throne world, and why Bael gave his eclipse energy to keep him alive. And now Bael willingly strikes a deal with her. That must have fractured their friendship. Not to mention how the Oblation failed for them.

In this part, the art dump is gonna have screenshots of LUME as promised, though, no environments. I never got far enough to flesh anything out past a few test levels.

BTW, no blood in any images this time. Just guns and robots.

First up, the ROS-44 sidearm. This revolver, holding six bullets at a time, was intended to be the player's first weapon, sporting good range and medium damage with the drawback of magazine size and reload time.

This is the ARAS-12, a shotgun chambered in twelve gauge. It sports high damage at close range, semi-auto fire, BUT takes a real long time to load, especially if the player's injured.

This is the player, Lume! Well, a VERSION of her. Never figured out a unit name for this robot, but her role was an advisor of sorts. Like a sergeant for the RAE units.

This model is of the RAE unit himself. The chestpiece sports a light, body cam, and three lights indicated the conditions of the unit's overall consciousness, crucial fluid levels(fuel, for example), and the unit's chassis integrity. Moreover, this was model adapted from the old Lume model(as seen above), then had a couple of the changes added to the RAE added onto the old Lume model as well, creating the FINAL Lume model. That, however, was lost when RR went down, and I didn't HAVE a screenshot of it. So for now, imagine a RAE unit with orange eyes, Lume's chest, Lume's radio pack, the stripes on the arms colored orange, and the two head antennas rather than that microphone.

This is the MOC. Not much to say that I didn't in the last part. Now, what's in the bottom left is actually an EMU. Now, it doesn't look ANYTHING like the concept art, and that's because that model came BEFORE the concept art, before I thought "wow this looks pretty shit" and made the new design.

Now, with that, we'll move onto part 4, the last and shortest part. It'll just be a little tidbit of pixel art and briefly explain how I weaved it into the game play. I understand that this is and has been a LOT of reading for three posts, so you all don't have to read it if you don't want to.

So, first, very sorry I haven't been posting like anything at all? I've been doing stuff and kinda forgot about Tumblr? Second, This is just gonna be a BIG ol (probably not that big) art dump of all my stuff. Essentially went through, finished what wasn't with one exception, then colored in what I wanted to. Additionally, I'll be sharing content from LUME, a game/project I was working on for months using RecRoom...well, BEFORE it bit the dust. That means concept art, a bit of pixel art, and in-game screenshots.

Now, moving on!

First up, V1!...Now, I'm not a big fan of this one. In the moment I finished it, I was very proud, but looking at it now...kind of ass. I could've done much better. Honestly, might remake this one at some point.

BEHOLD! The E.M.U, Environmental Mining unit. Or rather, it's concept art. Made for project LUME, this was meant to be a heavy enemy. I am VERY proud of this one. Above her is the START of the accompanying mining laser gun thing, but it never got finished before RR went down. I should ALSO say now that LUME is just the project name, and served as a placeholder for the game name and protagonist name. Both are subject to change.

This Teto was a weird sketch I made a while ago, probably in class. No, I do not know why I have her a thousand yard stare.

This one was my attempt at a more "chibi" art style. At some point, I decided that this particular one is gonna be an insomniac, hence the eyebags. I actually kind of like this one. No idea what to name her though.

It's the Batter from Off. I'm proud of this on one hand, but one the other, I totally flunked the arm lengths. His arms are NOT the same length. Now, I'm definitely proud of the little title thingie I gave him, and the chibi Batter

This is an OLD one. Like, a year ago probably. Give or take. This depicts Neru, and was actually my first real attempt at an anime-ish art style. Very proud!

This was made around the same time as the last one. I...Have mixed feelings on it, to say the least. Teto looks like thing from Iron Lung.

HALF-LIFE! WOOO! These aren't supposed to really be the main characters, but just the three different "divisions", for lack of a better word. Very proud of these, as they were drawn FROM MEMORY, so...again, proud of this. Except the SMG there. I suck at guns.

The Book Of Dust had no way of being as good as His Dark Materials were for me. I feel like because so much of the magic in HDM was how unexpected it came in my life and hit me right in the feelings, and picking up BOD, I expected to have that, and that is such a high expectation to come into a trilogy already.

I love the worldbuilding of BOD and how it expands on the adult themes that HDM doesn't really touch on. I love the fantasy in HDM and everything about Lyra that adulthood in BOD doesn't touch on. HDM feels like childhood wonder, BOD feels like growing up and realizing the world is broken and losing yourself in the cynism, but also finding your whimsy again. I understand the themes, but I don't like how they are portrayed in BOD.

I disliked Malcolm for a good part of the trilogy and only started to tolerate the guy when he was with the gryffons.

I hate what they did with Serafina.

I hate that talk with the angel, in a way? Like why retcon it and then not give me Lyra telling Pan about it and they planning to go find Will or something?

Also why not put Will in the book. Why. They were my first OTP. I was so hopeful to see them again.

I feel like BOD is like a very well done fanfiction from the HDM universe with a very solid worldbuilding and really great writing and different aspects, but that falls short on how many loose threads there are.

I feel like it talks about propaganda and the sheep like mentality Roger Waters goes over in Animals, and criticizes capitalism and doomer culture. I like all of these aspects.

And yet, I don't give a crap about so many characters. And yet, I feel like the ending was missing something to it.

I honestly ended the book thinking it was a hook to a fourth one and Pullman was going to pull a Sarah J Maas on the fans. Because that's it? We are not going to follow those stories Lyra will live and tell?

I love so many little details and the imagination angle and everything. I love the Myorama, as a Tarot reader that got into Tarot due to being the closest thing to an alethiometer our world has to offer.

Overall I feel like there should be more, but I am relieved that I don't hate these books. I was so afraid of hating them. I definitely won't cherish them like I did HDM and think of it as a separated entity, really, but not hating it is enough for me.

So somewhat lackluster but with it's good moments. I cried everytime Lyra and Pan interacted so there's that.

But honestly I did not care about so much stuff. I really was expecting it all to tie together at the end, and when it didn't.... it just fell flat.
