Salsa congresses have been held around the world since 1997, when the first one was organised in Puerto Rico. A salsa congress is usually a few days of organized dance activities including workshops, salsa dancing, performances and competitions. Congresses are held around the world; USA, all around Europe, Latin America, Africa and in some parts of Asia. The website www.salsadancecongresses.com keeps track of all bigger salsa congresses happening around the world and there are a lot. Check it out and see if there is something happening close to you in 2016. During 24-27th of March there is a Scandinavian Salsa Congress taking place In Gothenburg, Sweden that we want to tell you more about.

The Scandinavian Salsa Congress starts with a pre-party on Thursday the 24th of March at Adrianas Danshus. The rest of the weekend's activity will be held in at the Elite Park Avenue Hotel. The congress offers some many talented teachers, including Luis Vazquez and Weronika Pilat from Love Dance Academy who we interviewed recently. If you are a fan like we are and find yourself in Gothenburg during that weekend you can attend their lessons or see their show on Friday March 25th. The congress has from two to four different dance floor offering different dance styles like: Salsa line style, Salsa Cuban , Bachata  and Kizomba. You can take a better look at the schedule here.

You can also participate in salsa dance lessons at all levels and a schedule can be found on the events website. Lessons are taking place both Saturday and Sunday, throughout the whole day. It does not matter if you are a beginner or a professional you can definitely find something that fits you and your dance level.

The price for a pass to attend the whole weekend is at 2000 SEK but you can also buy entrances for just the parties or the performances. Further information about the prices and where to get your hands on tickets can be found here. We have also listed information about different prices:
