Can they take care of a plant? What about a pet? What about a child?

คto be perfectly honest, byan would forget that a plant exists after a week or so and would probably never water it enough, even if they somehow make sure it gets enough light. i'd be impressed if it survived for longer than maybe a month or two. even something as simple as a cactus is bound to die in their care.
a pet, on the other hand, byan is far more likely to put in the time and effort for. pets are more present than plants, they're active and affectionate, and byan admittedly has a fondness for animals that they don't really talk about much. they'd struggle a little with the responsibility of having another living creature relying on them from time to time, but something that's relatively low maintenance like a cat or dog would suit them well. might even teach them a bit about responsibility or be kind of therapeutic, in a way.
finally, on the far end of the responsibility spectrum... a child would definitely be too much. technically, they could functionally babysit, they are capable of that much, although it's a risky choice to leave the teenager who learned how to use knives before they were 10 in charge of your children. they've looked after younger kids a fair amount through their life, so they can keep a child entertained, make sure it eats, and make sure it goes to bed (though not necessarily on time), but they'll be a pretty bad influence and encourage some really stupid actions in the process. like, they're the babysitter that lets kids play games that are rated m or watch horror movies that end up traumatizing them, so. they CAN, but i wouldn't let them.
