Holstentor - Lübeck, Germany

View into one of the narrow idyllic pathways called „Gänge“ in Lübeck, a very old city in Germany. I love how every little bit of soil is heavily planted up and how the space is filled with tons of plants grown in containers complementing the beautiful, very old, red brick houses. This scene just shows that creating gardens and therefore beauty is possible everywhere! After we had to cancel our trip to England a few weeks ago because of the mandate of ten days of quarantine, we thought we would change plans and travel to Germany, my homeland, where the situation is better in terms of Covid, instead. Very little did we know by then that my mother-in-law would have a stroke and our vacation became a necessary visit of a relative, who is in a bad state of health. Still it was very fortunate that we had everything planned and booked so that we could visit her. When she needed it the most. Thankfully she is recovering and doing much better by now. It was lovely that besides visiting and doing things for my mother-in-law we also found time to enjoy the beauty of Germany, meet other friends and relatives, and relax a little. I am typing this post on our flight back to the US. First time using purchased internet access in the plane.
