lucy isn't sure why she's here. in here twenty three years of life she'd never stepped into anything greater than a pub, even then she asked for a hot chocolate, to the bartenders shock. but today she made a decision, another step to break out of her fears and be more of an 'adult', whatever that meant. todays adventure meant trying alcohol. she could of picked the reef to do this, something a little low key, but lucy was feeling brave. oasis was a world away from her comfort zone, music thumping through the speakers into the walls, she could feel the vibration in her bones stepping into the building.
flashing her ID to the bouncer, the blonde made her way up the staircase, squeezing through hot bodies on the dance floor till she made it to the bar, ordering the first drink she could think of. the taste was not what lucy expected, burning the back of her throat. her nose crinkles as she reaches forward for the water jug at the corner of the bar to chase the taste down. perhaps it was time to call it quits and go home, a solid attempt was made to understand the social construct of bars, she'd seen what she needed to see. bars were loud, alcohol wasn't as great as it was advertised to be. yet lucy decides to stay, five minutes certainly wasn't enough time to get used to a place, right? so she orders again, and again, trying new drinks in hope to find something that went down a little easier than the last.
gradually, the world around her started to get a little... swirly, slightly out of focused. was this what being drunk felt like? maybe it was time to sit down. finding an open stool near the bar, the blonde turns to the stranger perched directly beside it — she smiles "is this seat taken?"
