Between the different sprites in TLOZ, the artwork related to TAOL in contrast to TAOL Zelda’s sprite, and the general pink gown design’s vagueness because yes these are supposed to be two different Princesses but apparently ig Nintendo didn’t communicate that to the people they had drawing artwork, I was LOSING MY FUCKING MIND.

Of course, I don’t have the art skills to draw them, but I will very happily describe them!

Dawn is TLOZ Zelda, of course. I’m not sure what all has been said by Jojo about Hyrule’s Zeldas, so these are my own interpretations of the two Princesses in relation to LU as a concept. She has slightly dark reddish brown hair. It’s curly, but not as curly as Aurora’s hair is. She’s the Zelda with the pink gown shown in the manual, but she does have her green, red, and blue gowns as well! I headcanon that they actually each correspond to one of Hyrule’s (the kingdom) allies, and she wears the respective dresses when meeting with dignitaries.

She’s a little bit older than Hyrule, but is in the same age range, and by the time of TAOL, she’s functionally Queen, having been officially crowned, but prefers the title of ‘Princess’ (she feels kind of weird being Queen… I mean, she literally knows about her like five times great aunt still being alive in a cursed sleep, I could imagine her feeling like she’s taking Aurora’s place, even if that’s far from the truth. I need more Zeldas who feel insecure and inferior in their positions I need the angst rahhhh).

Aurora is her however-many-times great aunt! She’s more based on her spritework than Dawn is, having dark brown, very curly hair, and pale skin due to having not been in the sun for a century (her body was sustained by magic, but it can’t exactly perform all of the functions of sunlight). I’m undecided on her and Dawn’s eye colors… anyway, she’s either a little older than Dawn or a little younger than her and Hyrule.

She’s very, very out of place in the current day, and feels constant homesickness. She does try to keep up with the court and official royal business after a while, feeling like it’s still her duty as a princess, but Dawn and Rulie both force her to take it easy. Her and Dawn bond a lot over study sessions; Dawn tutors her in how things, especially in regards to the kingdom’s relationships, have changed, and in other developments that have happened in the century that she’s been asleep. This started once they all hit their mid-teens.
