Headcannon that the CDI games are just Legend’s weirdly vivid dreams after LA.
It would also be funny if he gets delirious so the chain is possibly expecting him to get emotional or confused but instead he just starts saying things dead serious like “I AM THE READER IF YOU BRING ME THE BOOK I WILL READ IT TO YOU”, “I CAN’T WAIT TO BOMB SOME DODONGOS”, and “DIE”
(Personally I have a lot of dreams where “I” am in them but that “person” doesn’t quite look or act like me but I know it’s supposed to be me. Plus I also have multiple different dreams in the same location. So I think the same could happen to him.)
Sometimes Legend can understand magical animals like Moosh, Ricky, and Demitri from the oracle games so what if he can also understand twilight as wolfie. Twilight can talk to animals and others like Midna as wolfie but he wouldn’t know about Legend so to him there would be no point in talking. Therefore pre-reveal legend just hears this strange wolf who doesn’t talk and just yells “hu hayaaa”

The way you and @loz-chainsofcorruption have been characterizing Team Dark Link makes me suspect that someone tried to clone the Chain but was just about as unsuccessful as you could possibly be XD Perhaps it was the Yiga? Or something interrupted a spell the main LU comic Dark Link was doing? Perhaps Nink's sheer presence was enough to imbalance the world, so many possibilities >u<
This does seem like a Yiga-level epic fail, doesn’t it?😂 I’m partial to the theory that some Ganon (or Demise or Ghirahim?) was trying to create the perfect adversary to take out each Link. He succeeded by making Dink himself, but to make the spell work, Ganon had to create a perfect opposite of ALL the Heroes’ qualities.
Needless to say, there were a lot of … less than desirable traits left in Ganon’s perfect creation. So, Ganon yanked out the weird, concerning, problematic stuff from baby Dink and chucked it in the dumpster. The dumpster promptly caught fire, and the sludge inside magically came to life.
And that’s where Team Dark Link/Team Scrap Metal (seemed like the silly opposite of the Chain) came from!🤣

crack idea: the Links last name being the second half of their game's title; for example, Time of Ocarina and Twilight of Princess
