Well, pets, just a wait! - Episode 7 (Part 2/2)
ENG:This is the second half of seventh episode from my LPS 2012 and Masked singer fanfic for @littlest-petshop-2002-2026. The scene where pandas threaten Trip with the voices of various animals is based on similar scene from Russian cartoon "The Bremen town musicians."
RUS: Вторая половина седьмого эпизода из моего фанфика по Маленькому зоомагазину 2012 и Маске. Сцена, где панды запугивают Трипа голосами различных зверей, основана на аналогичной сцене из мультфильма "Бременские музыканты".
The indignant hooligan began running down the corridor, peering into the cabins. He peered into one, and there was Anita the hamster, chopping potatoes.
"What?" Anita didn't understand, and Trip quickly closed the door.
"I won't disturb her if she's busy with snacks," mad guy closed the door and peered into another cabin.
In the other cabin, Mark the white eagle and Aziza the emperor penguin were resting on a bed. Seeing intruder, Aziza screamed, and Mark grabbed a pillow and threw it at the hamster in the striped shirt. The visitor managed to close the door before he got hit in the muzzle with pillow.
"How awkward!" rodent rolled his eyes and peered into the third cabin, where he saw Diana the white ermine in red dress sitting in front of mirror.
"Get out of here!" Diana waved her paws and, running to the door, locked it with one blow of her paw.
"And they're not here!" Trip sighed, offended. "I'll have to look for them on deck."
Male hamster sits on a high mast, watching for pandas.
And there they are. Sitting in chaise loungers, admiring the seascape.
Trip unhooked the rope from the mast and swooped down toward the pandas. Two friends ducked - the rodent flew past.
Trip raced with the rope, up and down, but couldn't catch Penny or Dandy.
Flying past again, crazy hamster crashed into the one of seagulls and fell to the deck. But then he saw a ring sticking out of the deck, to which the rope was tied. Penny and Dandy were walking toward it. They were singing "Vacation" by the Go-Go's. They were so engrossed that they didn't notice anything around them.
Taking advantage of opportunity, Trip began winding the rope onto the reel, like a chain on well pulley. The rope tightened, the hatch opened, two pandas stepped into the void and flew into dark space.
Contented hamster jumped out from around the corner, laughed and jumped down.
"Where are we?" confused Penny asked, looking at the boxes and bags surrounding them.
"Hello!" Trip smiled slyly and headed toward two pandas.
Meanwhile, the ship's captain approached the hatch.
"This isn't right!" captain shook his head and slammed the hatch shut.
Pitch black. Where's Trip, where're Penny and Dandy?
The flashlight flickered on, its beam crawling along the wall. Trip stood there, holding the flashlight in his paws, looking around the room and listening for any sounds.
Dandy poked his head out from behind the box and howled like wolf at the moon.
Hamster flinched, stepped back and dropped the flashlight.
"What was that?" Trip took flashlight with trembling paws and continued searching for two fluffy friends.
"Cock-a-doodle-doo..." Dandy muttered discontentedly, sitting behind the bag.
Trip turned toward the bag, but at that moment, Penny's head appeared from behind the barrel:
"MEOW!"
"Who's there?" Trip aimed the beam at the barrel, but female panda had managed to hide elsewhere.
"Cough-cough!" Penny coughed, standing behind the box.
"Ruff-ruff!" Dandy barked, sitting nearby.
The rodent perked up, clenched his teeth and aimed the flashlight in the direction of barking!
Darkness again, nothing visible again. The only sound was the gurgling of water, gushing from the hole.
Penny rushed to the wall and flicked the switch - a gaping hole in the side from the flashlight thrown at it.
"SOS!" Dandy yelled.
Male panda in striped shirt and light-brown pants rushed toward the hole - he was thrown back.
Trip rushed toward the hole, blocking it with his own body, but the water continued to flow more violently.
Dandy grabbed the crate and threw it into the hole, but water gushed in even harder. Worried Penny climbed onto the pile of sacks and tossed one into Dandy's clutches. Trip snatched the sack and tossed it into the hole. He grabbed another and tossed another. Three animals managed to plug the hole. The remaining water was pumped out.
They're sitting there, gasping for breath.
"Phew! Yeah..." was all Trip said, adjusting his cap.
Penny remained silent, while Dandy shrugged and chuckled softly.
A trio of animals – Dandy the male panda in striped shirt and light-brown pants, Penny the female panda in dark-pink Indian dress and Trip the male hamster in striped shirt and cap - walked across the deck, hugging each other like old friends. They danced and sang "Always on my mind".
Caught up in the song, female panda stepped on Trip's right pant leg and tore it off at the knee.
The rodent stopped and frowned, but restrained himself. She was a lady, after all.
He turned Penny around and they walked the other way. Penny stepped on the other pant leg and also tore it off at the knee.
Trip looked at the shorts he'd received and heard Dandy's voice.
"I can mend them, if you want..." male panda admitted, picking up the torn pieces of fabric.
"WELL, PANDAS..." Trip couldn't resist, yanked his shirt open and started tugging out clumps of fur until patches of bare skin formed like the words:
WELL, JUST A WAIT!
