Thompson-Spires challenges us to reflect on the version of ourselves we present online and what emotional impact may come with keeping up with that image. How much of our identity is truly our own, and how much is it shaped by online approval? As social media continues to misdirect the lines between real life and online identity, we as readers are left to ask, how do we present ourselves online when no one is watching? Who is the person behind the screen?

Recuerdo aquel día.

Yo estaba emocionada por el plan tan bello de hacer algo juntos, en pareja. Noche de preguntas con respuestas sinceras.

La verdad es que entre tantas preguntas y lo no bien que yo me encontraba ya para esos tiempos, no recuerdo la pregunta pero me dijiste algo que jamás voy a olvidar: "Tú ya no me vez con ojos de amor" y yo me alarmé un poco porque te contesté: "¿Cómo no te voy a ver con ojos de amor? si yo te amo". Pero viéndolo en retrospectiva, hacía algún tiempo que no sentía ese te amo tan profundo como alguna vez y yo creí que había sido por tantos inconvenientes vividos anteriormente entre los dos.
