There are very few possessions I'd grab in a fire. But this painting is one. Purchased by my grandma in Scottsdale, Arizona in the mid 1960's, I've spent my entire life gazing at this ship. The mystery of the painting is that there are potentially two ships, crossing paths or about to collide. The dilemma has been cause for literally endless debate in my family, and the color palette set the tone for my earliest memories. It still influences my design style and a kind of philosophy for life: There's beauty in knowing that not every question needs to be answered, not every relationship is meant to last, and some of the best design resolution is left for the imagination. We come. We go. And sometimes we come back. #LoveEvolves #CarDesign #ShipsPassing. #DESIGNEVERYTHING (at Los Angeles Gay Pride)
