This can be Rosie if we’re delusional enough.
Sherlock taking her to a crime scene and John dressed like a lame ass dad.
Maul is so appealing for a lot of the same reasons Mando is appealing. He is an independent and doesn’t rly subscribe to either the empire or any version of the republic. Which is so refreshing bc it adds dimension and complexity to Star Wars since it’s so rare for them to venture outside of that empire/republic conflict.
Like not everyone’s life can revolve around this basic political struggle. It isn’t realistic or interesting. Some ppl’s internal struggles or community struggles are too big and too overwhelming for them to venture much further beyond that. And I like that we get 2 main characters who aren’t fighting for the galaxy. They’re fighting for themselves which can also be just as heroic and dynamic (“Heroic” but like. Maul is a good anti-hero. So whatever)
But I don’t think fighting for yourself or prioritizing your own personal issues above a “greater good” is necessarily bad. Morally or narratively. I think it’s very realistic and very relatable and I am rly glad to see those kinds of protagonists in Star Wars. I’m glad to see something DIFFERENT in Star Wars.
