Who’d wanna be poking about under the bonnet of a car all day? You could be out in the market. All that noise… the animals…

And as we enter the life-altering July (with three months remaining for Karl!Robert), Jack who continues to be blind about Robert’s goals and dislike of anything to do with farming tries to cajole Robert’s help at the market with him and Andy by spouting the negatives of working around cars (give me strength). Not included but Jack and Andy didn’t do well at the market learning they were essentially blacklisted with tales about the health of their livestock. Back in the village, the duo first confront Cain for being behind the sabotage but move on to the Kings with Jack attacking Jimmy directly. Robert tries again to convince Jack to get rid of the land but he will continue fighting on!

The sudden re-imaging of Robert continues (first was the change in hairstyle) as he now willingly offers to help ‘mate’ (and manipulator) Sadie by using Katie as an unwilling source (all this driving Katie’s impending exit). In this episode, Sadie feigns tries to make peace with Katie (but it’s all for getting inside information on the Kings). Sadie sweet talking Robert (‘a friendly face’) by spouting her woes about Jimmy to the point Robert offers to help his mate if he can.

It’s Robert’s 19th birthday (the last for exactly a decade) and, lo and behold, no punching, slapping or disasters in sight 😱. Robert assures Jack he’s fine with focusing on Diane more than on his birthday. Scott is still whinging about how things with Ivy and the car went sideways. Robert reminds him it’s their reputation he’s besmirching. Diane finishes her last chemo session and is ready to celebrate. Andy leaves Robert’s birthday gift with Jack and Diane.
