— THE DAIMOKU OF THE LOTUS SUTRA — (pt.10) . [The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin] . WITHIN THIS SINGLE CHARACTER [KYO] ARE CONTAINED ALL THE SUTRAS IN THE WORLD’S THROUGHOUT THE TEN DIRECTIONS. It is like the wish-granting jewel that contains within it all manner of treasures, or the vastness of space that encompasses all phenomena. And because this single character kyo of MYOHO-RENGE-KYO IS THE SUPREME ACHIEVEMENT OF THE BUDDHA’S LIFETIME OF TEACHING, the other four characters, MYO-HO-REN-GE, LIKEWISE SURPASS ALL THE OTHER EIGHTY THOUSAND DOCTRINES that the Buddha taught. Coming now to the character MYO, the Lotus Sutra says, “THIS SUTRA OPENS THE GATE OF EXPEDIENT (SKILLFUL) MEANS AND SHOWS THE FORM OF TRUE REALITY.” The Great Teacher Chang-an states, “MYO MEANS TO REVEAL THE DEPTHS OF THE SECRET STOREHOUSE.” The Great Teacher Miao-lo says of this, “TO REVEAL MEANS TO OPEN.” Hence the character myo means to open. . If there is a storehouse full of treasures but no key, then it cannot be opened, and if it cannot be opened, then the treasures inside cannot be seen. THE BUDDHA PREACHED THE FLOWER GARLAND SUTRA, BUT HE DID NOT THEREIN EXPOUND THE KEY TO OPEN THIS SUTRA. LIKEWISE, in the more than forty years that followed, he preached the sutras of THE AGAMA, CORRECT AND EQUAL, AND WISDOM PERIODS as well as the MEDITATION SUTRA, BUT HE DID NOT REVEAL THEIR MEANING. THEIR DOORS REMAINED CLOSED, and therefore no one could understand these sutras. I've been working with #Buddha studying the #Lotus #energy & the #LotusSutra again for the past couple of weeks. I feel it's a relevant reminder for more than 1 of you, that the lotus rises in its life & splendor, out of the mud. It takes nourishment out of what most consider thick/dark/dirty, & creates a life & #beauty all its own. The lotus has been revered for this, for its beauty & its properties for centuries. In #AncientEgypt, the #BlueLotus was loved & utilized for its magical properties. In #Buddhism & #Hinduism, you often see deity rising from or resting upon the lotus. We all have this ability. Afterall, Buddha himself taught that he wasn't a God, just a man attaining his freedom, #SelfMastery, #Enlightenment, & full power as a co-creator of this Universe. So lovely souls, this is your reminder of the day - you too have this ability. Whatever you are looking to #regenerate, #rebirth, or turn around to create beauty from, Will come to a positive, peaceful, & powerful resolution. You can use your power, (perhaps with a little help from lotus energy), to rise out of what feels like mud, into your own special blend of light beauty & splendor. You can do it, believe you will & you will. Remember that #Lightworkers are often sent through "dark"/uncomfortable areas in life in order to learn/teach/shed light there. If you need some help in these periods that's totally normal, that is why we have the knowledge/tools/communities of shared light that we have.
